McMurphy confirming too.
Really can’t wait to get some real tv valuations with PAC vs Big12 realignment.
IMO, this will determine whether expansion moves forward with a viable P3 with no access lost for schools remaining in the PAC and ACC, or whether we painfully drag things out until 2036. Early negotiations favor not only the B12 but also Network timetables and consolidation.
Now should FOX and ESPN undervalue the offers it would likely signal an end to this realignment. If they raise it modestly it could be the starting gun for a mad last dash for cash and a P3.
If the Big12 receives valuations higher than the current ACC payout. That might be the final straw for FSU and Miami. I can't imagine a world where they sit back and watch UCF get paid more than them for 8-10 years.
So, if you're ESPN and Fox, maybe you don't offer more than $25 or $30M per school for secondary content. Fox needs some FS1 games, ESPN needs to fill a few Saturday windows and some weeknight games and some ESPN+ content.
Fox and ESPN aren't at war. Fox can't afford to be.
FOX probably wants to destabilize the ACC too. Helps the B1G in the next round of realignment.
ACC teams can either watch the Big12 jump them in revenue or dissolve the conference.

Delusional.
The Big 12 schools are not antsy at all. None think the B1G or SEC is coming and none think they'd move west. That is sheer fantasy from Canzano or his source.

Watching these two turn from legitimate sports reporters to The Dudes of Oregon State and Cal is sad.

LOL
Look at the bright side from Canzano's and Wilner's joint career change to public relations.
Even if he's saying nothing publicly, we always know George K's talking points

Those two deserve each other. I bet they call each other at night before crying on their pillows.

Negotiations might include the timing of Texas and Oklahoma leaving the conference.

I love Conzano's analysis here:
"ESPN could, in fact, have exclusivity in the Pacific Time Zone if it desired that. Take Mountain West Conference programs such as San Diego State, UNLV, Boise State and Fresno State and add them to the Pac-12 and you’ve pretty much got the primetime windows in the time zone to yourself. But we’ll soon see how much that matters to ESPN."
Hmmm, exclusivity, huh? Did he forget that FOX will have USC and UCLA inventory and the Number 1 Pacific market?
I also note that the September 10 (Big 12 conference preview) matchup between Baylor-BYU is scheduled in 10pm ET West Coast primetime slot...if FOX gets some Big 12 inventory, it could have a weekly West Coast prime time game.
Good luck to Arizona State v. UNLV and Cal v. Fresno State in going up against Iowa @ USC, Nebraska @ UCLA, and Baylor @ BYU.

Just give them an early buyout discounted. Why let them walk for nothing, just for an extra lame duck year? I would just grab 30-40 million from each and start my Big 16 in 24' to align with USC/UCLA.

"• The Big 12 is not technically entering an exclusive negotiating window. At this point, it’s just talking with ESPN and FOX. I think that’s an important distinction. “Definitely some spin going on there,” said one Pac-12 insider."
Sounds like his inside source is Wilner
He states the PAC 12 has an advantage. What advantage would that be? Less money, schools contacting the B1G? What would that advantage be. Canzano gets out of bed, checks his talking points email from the PAC offices. Calls Wilner for an anonymous quote, bingo. Story is written.

Canzano and Wilner seem to be under the impression that the Big12 schools desperately want in to a deflated and unstable PAC. It is that type of wishful, arrogant thinking which landed the PAC in the situation they are in. The administrators, league office and media live in a California fantasy land, completely out of touch with the rest of the country.

More from George K's PR release ... Canzano's article:
"One of the Pac-12’s Four Corners athletic directors I spoke with on Wednesday morning said that the Big 12 opening discussions on the media rights front is a “non-factor” for his university. He maintained there has been no contact with the Big 12 and that his university is committed to the Pac-12."
"A whole lotta lying going on right now"

The "Rump Parliament" was what remained after the Cavaliers purged the more royalist members in preparation for trying the King for treason.
According to the wikipedia page for the Rump PArliament, this is the first known usage of the expression in English.

Unintended? No, Yormark knows it’s a good bargaining chip.
Totally worth it too. Texas and OU leave 1 year early and in exchange we secure 4 PAC teams to the Big12.
