The REAL 2022/3 MBB Schedule
I mostly like it. Nice mix of mid-majors in the NC schedule. It's good to have the exhibition with GVSU and the game with Wayne St before the UM game.

The only shortcoming is only two P5 schools. A third P5 game, especially at home, would've been the icing on the cake.

Has Steve bought tickets to Cancun yet?

I know crocodile tears tears but I'm in SoCal for Thanksgiving week.

I have some photos of me with my feet on the balcony looking over the Pacific years ago when we were in CLE for the MAC tourney. Listening to Chad and Matt and watching on the tablet.

Now watching on Flosports?

RE: The REAL 2022/3 MBB Schedule
Hard to believe but in TWO Months we'll have our x-hibition game vs. GV.

Glad to have it. As we know the team is pretty new. Don't want to go into UofM game w/out say two games under our belt.

In a normal year I would have really liked this NC schedule. For the team we have this year, it is actually disappointing. Probably no one wants to play us… I like Howard’s decision, the man has courage…

Hm last year's non conference home schedule was much better in my opinion.

The problem, guys, is the tourney. It destroyed the November home schedule.

Play UofM at Little Caesars and then off to play the tourney teams at their place or Cancum and then we return home Thanksgiving week.

That's November.

This is a good schedule. Agree that one more home D1 opponent would be helpful. Like if the Wayne State game was some else or if ISU was at home.

I don't mean this to sound snarky to D-I MBB teams but EMU announced their schedule today; MLB announced their 2023 schedules TODAY.

U of M really only big payday game. Surprised MSU wasn't on schedule this year. If I am reading this right we only play Ohio U Buffalo and Miami once?

I can't say I expected much more than this. Really wish the Oakland game was at home and that we could have gotten that Bradley/opening Cancun game in the G3 as well, but oh well.

Last year's schedule hurt this year's... Not much one can do about that. Return trips for FIU, Illinois State and Niagara + the Cancun tournament limit the NC you can put together.

RE: The REAL 2022/3 MBB Schedule
One thing no one is talking about is how nice this schedule is for the players.

Little Caesars Arena vs. UofM. Cancun and then back south to Miami, Fl and finally a game in S. Carolina.

Think the kid will like it.

Too bad scheduling is so difficult can't schedule back-to-back games in Florida.

That is a good point. Especially Cancun. I hope the Coaching staff/program can spring for an extra night and let the players have a day just to hang out on the beach.

RE: The REAL 2022/3 MBB Schedule
All - I’m kind of meh with this schedule. I was hoping for a more challenging schedule and possibly one good P5 game at the George Gervin arena. With Emoni onboard we could sell out a P5 game and give them perhaps $100000 to play here. Is that a reasonable purse for a local P5 visit (NW, Illinois, Purdue, OSU) . A sellout and special ticket prices of $20/head would cover the purse and overhead.

I like WMUs schedule:

@ Minnesota
@ Valpo
@ Dayton
@ Iowa State
@ Wisconsin
(tourney with Rice, Houston Baptist and Ga Southern)

Home games against Cleveland State and Illinois-Chicago and still 3 TBDs.

IDK Luckey, doesn’t seem great for fans or players. WMU has no games in Oct, 2 home games in Nov, and 1 home game in Dec. @home they play KZoo Col, CSU, and UIC
On the other hand, Eagles fans can easily be in person for: GVSU, Wayne, UM, Oakland, UCSD, FAU, and UDM

I believe you are thinking football. Basketball games are not nearly as lucrative.

I think MM are in the 75 - 100K range. In football, a FCS team will easily get say 350K.

I'll try to get examples, esp. FB. P5 teams easily pay 1 - 2M to teams to visit.
