Don’t be a dick! UIW is a fine institution

Well, at least they play football, fit several footprints, and have options. Pretty much the polar opposite of seattle.

And what options does Tarleton have again?
lol! Not the Southland! Imagine being rejected by the Southland! Passed up for Incarnate Word and, more importantly, Houston ******* Baptist. Tarleton fans can’t seem to understand why Texans think their school is a joke… well, the ones that have heard of it.

The Tarleton knob will come back and say “that’s the way they wanted it. Were waiting for the WAC opportunity, rather than the dreadful Southland”

Well, the Big West is looking for at least a 12th baseball member and last check, Tarleton has it... 03-lmfao

Matt Brown is reporting Incarnate Word is staying in the WAC; that they considered making a move to remain in the Southland but alas, they are remaining in the WAC

Has more to do with exhaustion over those believing UIW was not even coming in a few weeks. Glad this played out the way it did

In which sport? It’s likely they will bring up the rear in basketball and compete with SFA for the top spot in football.

If they can’t cut it competitively, UIW does have a welcoming home waiting for them in the SLC though, since they appear to have left on good terms without any of the nastiness and hard feelings the other 4 created on the way out.

I’m not predicting what will happen with their stay in the WAC. Hard to tell, but there is a lot to like in their profile.

I was. UIW has shown zero committment to actually getting better and investing in their programs. Remains to be seen whether Morris was just lightning in a bottle.

They're perfect for the Southland and should have stayed there.

And that’s what happens when you join an unstable conference that will take anybody.

That was also the southland. UNO, UIW, HBU, et al.

Instability and bad basketball in the case of the SLC

I don’t care about WAC or FCS football too much

RE: Matt Brown: Tidbits on UIW, WAC and Chicago State
The Southland should have imploded if they can't find the needed replacement schools (aside from having Lamar returning back), as no other D-II school from the footprint isn't yet ready to improve and move up. Basically they are in the same predicament as the MEAC and possibly the Big South (with this past season having 12 full members (5 of them playing football, excluding affiliates) to just 10 (and 3 with football)).
