Okay, judging from the recent threads that where added, these schools are receiving considerations; Memphis, ECU, USF from the AAC and I believe Boise State and Colorado State(let me know if others are considered) Which schools will make it!

Paying players is legal now. In the past SMU was guilty, but they were not the only ones.
Memphis makes too much sense with their geography. I think USF with the huge alumni base and good market is a real possibility IF they can get their act together)which they are trying with OCS etc. UCF by themselves doesn't seem like a long term solution.

I'll say this, I don't think we're making the Big 12. Having said that, I do think we're going to be in the mix for the league title in football this year. It would be interesting to see what kind of buzz we would get with a special season.

We're a bridge for several schools. A bridge that needs to be made imo. WVU, Cincy, UCF, USF....
We are too far out of the geography even if other factors made sense. Unfortunately, due to that fact, our best bet outside of the AAC is some ACC back-fill or bizzaro world SEC invite.
Unfortunately the only way I see ECU making the Big 12 if the PAC comes calling and takes Texas Tech and OK State, even then it's a long shot because of geography.

If ECU can get football to back to what it was when typically is and basketball gets it’s act together then we might have a slim chance otherwise I don’t see it

SMU and San Diego State have also been rumored to be on their short list.

Another take:.................Magic 8 ball's responses:*....Magic 8 ball 2nd response:
Memphis - Way..............."Better not tell you now."............"It is certain."
SMU - Maybe....................."You may rely on it.".........."You may rely on it."
Boise St. - Maybe..................."My reply is no."............."It is decidely so."
USF - Maybe....................."Reply hazy, try again."......"My sources say no."
CSU - Maybe.........................."Outlook good."................"It is certain."
SDSU - Maybe.............................."Yes."....................."Ask again later."
Everybody else - No way....."Outlook not so good."........."My reply is no."
Summary: According to the Magic 8 ball when asked twice, it's looking very good for SMU and CSU, pretty good for Memphis and SDSU, but not for USF or everybody else, with the exception of Boise State, which is a definite "maybe."

That or the B12 goes really big and decides they need another Eastern school to help balance the geography. That said BYU is in there so the geography is a complete mess so it can only be mitigated so much. A lot will depend on what happens with the upper leagues as usual.
USF needs to get it's act together but would be a good fit in that they give UCF a natural rival. Based on history, I would bet that USF doesn't get it's act together.
Boise is possible, good history of success, but several negatives as well.
CSU needs to win. If they were winning it would be a no brainer.
SMU probably doesn't have a chance unless teams leave.
