Here are my predictions:

ECU: Up - will average ~5-7 wins/year (multiple bowl games)
Memphis: Up - will become an elite FB program & will join Big 12.
Navy: Unclear, but would expect some improvement.
SMU: Up - will be one of the AAC's top 2-3 programs; may join Big 12.
Tulane: Unclear, but would expect some improvement.
Temple: Steady improvement - will play in 2-3 bowl games in next 5 years.
Tulsa: Continued improvement - will play in multiple bowl games.
USF: Unclear, but would expect some improvement.

Explanation:

* Most, if not all should win 1 or 2 more games per year as of 2023, since they will be playing CUSA6 teams rather than UC, UCF, or UH.

* Memphis & SMU have the Big 12 in their sights and will make a big push for that.

* ECU and Tulsa seem to have gotten their football programs back on track.

* Temple has rebooted with a promising new coaching staff with P5 experience.

* Need to learn more about developments at Navy & USF.

USF- up, everything is in place for 2023 being a big year, 2022 could be a bowl season only question is how we come out of OOC schedule. But the talent and depth that is there compared to 2020 is night and day. USF will be among top AAC teams as early as 2023

I agree, but some of those CUSA6 teams will not be pushovers. We just barely got by La Tech last year. And UTSA beat Memphis.

The reason I posted this thread is that none of the previous or existing threads has invited the readers to go through the 8 AAC remainers - in particular - and compare them side by side, systematically.

There are lots of threads in which readers have spoken about the future of the AAC after the CUSA6 join the conference, but none that ask them specifically about how the 8 remaining AAC schools will do in football over the next five years.

I'm trying to get a better idea of how AAC fans envision the future prospects of each of the 8 remaining AAC football programs, and the only way of getting a better idea is to ask the fans of each team to predict how they think their programs will do.

Already, one of the two responses has provided some relevant, interesting information that hasn't been available from any of the other threads.

If ECU keeps Mike Houston it can dominate this conference. The problem is he will likely leave if he wins an AAC title.

If the metric is number of wins shouldn't all of them trend upward as three of the top teams exit and you'll replace 2-3 games vs. CUSA programs?

Unfortunately ECU can't afford to. We simply don't have the type of alumni base needed to do it at the level for it to make an impact. I don't like it but that's just our reality. I'd also add that 90% of the G5 is in the same boat as us. If they weren't they'd already have much larger athletic budgets.

Man, if we do it's peanuts compared to what other schools are spending. I think Holton Ahler's has some t-shirt brand that nobody's buying. Besides that I've seen nothing to indicate it's happening. You'd see them in some ads or something, right? G5's by and large just don't have the big money donors nor the fanbases to make it realistic. In other words for a booster to take that risk there's got to be some kind of benefit to them. If a team doesn't have any fans who are they really advertising to?

Yes we have players with NIL deals outside of Holton, the reason Mason Garcia is still here is because someone paid up and he’s a backup player.

ECU is one of 5 schools in the AAC to have an NIL collective

We didnt add LaTech. Other than UAB, the AAC really didnt add anyone that should really give the legacy AAC teams much to immediately worry about. For the additions---its all about potential and what they do with this opportunity. When CUSA expanded after the Big East/AAC raids----the legacy left behind teams flourished---Marshall, UAB---heck---even Rice won a championship. S Miss fell off and then rebounded. The only legacy team that failed to have any success within the first 4 or 5 years was UTEP. And, now nearly a decade after the 2011 realignment----UTEP has become the last legacy team to enjoy post-realignment success and is finally trending upward. The new line up should be a positive for the legacy team records overall---especially for those that have had reasonably consistent success in the original AAC and 2011 version of CUSA. So, Id expect Memphis, SMU, Temple, and ECU to all do fairly well. USF should at least do better than they have in the previous version of the AAC.

So what product are they pushing? I've seen zilch and Holton is asking for money so he can attend the Manning QB Camp.

I don't understand why ECU just don't go to Vince and Linda McMahon and ask for money and go hey we will name a indoor practice facility after you all. Vince would go for having a building on campus with his name on it in a minute, he donated $500,000 for a fellowship grant go for more. Honor him at halftime the whole red carpet treatment and get this NIL money. Problem with ECU is they make more excuses on why they can't do something instead of thinking outside the box and getting it done.
