Farewell Tour - WKU vs the AA6
Thought I'd look up our head-to-head matchups with the AA6 during our time together in CUSA. Since this upcoming season will be your farewell tour and WKU is playing all six, I thought it'd be interesting to see how we've stacked up against each other during the last 8 seasons. Lots of fun football, some exciting games and lots of good banter between the fans over the years.

WKU vs UAB - We only met three times and UAB leads 2-1. UAB won the first game, WKU won the 2nd game, and UAB won the 3rd game. It's our turn 02-13-banana

WKU vs Charlotte - We've met 5 times and WKU leads 4-1, having won the last 3.

WKU vs FAU - We've met 8 times and FAU leads the series 5-3.

WKU vs NT - We only met twice in the eight years together in CUSA but WKU won both.

WKU vs Rice - We only met three times and WKU won all three.

WKU vs UTSA - We only met three times and UTSA leads 2-1. Both UTSA wins were last year and they were both incredible games but UTSA came out on top both times.

Since we didn't get a farewell tour from the SB3, here's our record against them during our time in CUSA together:
WKU vs Marshall - Series finished tied 4-4
WKU vs ODU - WKU led the series 6-1
WKU vs USM - WKU led the series 4-0

Should be some good games this Fall. I'm ready for football season and it's not even Summer yet.

Farewell Tour - WKU vs the AA6
If you looked it up you may have noticed the trend in the Rice games where we get at least one TD closer to you guys each time.

So this year, maybe close enough to actually be interesting for a while, but WKU still wins by 2TD?

All bets are off for this upcoming season. We've lost A LOT. I'm hopeful that recruiting and the portal have gone well for us but I'm nervous about this season. So many unknowns.

I’m glad Marshall got out of CUSA early, but I hope the series with WKU isn’t finished. We had some fun games on the court and football field and I hope to see WKU on Marshall’s schedule again soon 04-cheers

I'm sure at some point down the road we'll see each other on our OOC schedules. It'll probably be a few years tho as we're all shuffling OOC schedules due to changing conference memberships.

Five of the eight games were at Marshall and only three were in BG so the next game should be in BG. Interestingly, 3 of our 4 wins came on the road at Marshall.

I've already put WKU on my list of stadiums to visit before we leave next year. Drove through once on my way home and the campus looked beautiful.

I figured as we get closer to basketball season we can have some "Farewell Tour" threads. Those should be fun.

It's likely several years down the road but I foresee the SBC becoming 2 conferences eventually since they expanded to 14 and I see WKU, MTSU and Liberty joining up with the eastern SBC schools.

Yes, we're all familiar with winsepedia. I was just using the records against each other during our times together in CUSA, not total mtgs in history.

If WKU was so good and had something other to offer than big mouth fans, the BIG XII, AAC, or the Belt would have came knocking.
You don't see Southern Miss fans talking about how they beat Alabama 5 times between 20 to 55 years ago! People are looking forward, which is something WKU's admin failed to do for it's university! So if you wanna crap on someone, aim your butt-hole at your school's admin, sucka!

Where the hades are you getting anything from my post but me just extending a hand out to our soon to be departing conference mates? There was no bragging, no "Big mouth", no busting on anyone in my post.

Oh, I see now. You are embarrassed because I showed the game record between WKU and ODU. I'm sorry if that offended you.

As far as any other conference wanting us, we WKU fans have stated ad nauseum that we know we don't have a big market, no big budget, no geographical alignment, no huge attendance numbers. We are a nice little university in a small market trying to compete at a high level and sometimes doing well and other times failing miserably. We can't change any of that and will always be left behind. It's who we are. We were left behind in 1992, we were left behind in 2013, and left behind in 2021. We will always be the last kid chosen. We are used to it.

I've stated repeatedly I have no beef with the SB3 or the AA6 doing what they felt was best for their schools and I have wished them all well.

Reggie Collier killed the Drunkenbear (ah gess ah jess caint coach no moah). That achievement has no expiration date.

It is odd to have had so much history with Western in basketball (Mars bars!) and basically none in football.

Just 55 years ago? really USM? I think you’re falling victim to recency bias.

You need to go back 70 for a clearer picture. Rice’s last win against Alabammy was 67 years ago.

They went 0-3 against us and haven’t played us since 03-wink
