Not an unexpected decision, given that most of the recruiting gurus had him picking Ohio State. However, Based on his tape and his physical attributes, my thought was that he would be a perfect fit for UC’s defense. If he doesn’t get playing time in Columbus, maybe he’ll come home and realize that the Bearcat program is a comfortable and preferable landing spot.

Quote:Finally set to be a full-time starter this season and no longer just a weapon in Tressel's third-down packages, Huber will be expected to make more of those plays on a consistent basis. But Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell said he's not worried. After all, Huber already has been the Bearcats' most consistent performer academically.

Vann and Taylor return on the DL
Bryant and Prater at QB
Huber looking like getting starter minutes and i imagine that Pace did not transfer to watch his brother play
Taylor and Whyle return and may be the best TE duo (pending Whyle's health)
Bush and Hicks return in the secondary.
Upgrade at Kicker.
Still some question marks but the questions are different. i'm intrigued by what our LB rotation will be like; which young players will emerge, what our WR rotation will look like; and what our first team OL will look like; and who gets the majority of reps at RB.
i think when it's all said and done, Bryant will be taking snaps at QB1. Super excited for this upcoming season.

Most teams would love to have the problem that we are currently experiencing. 4 quality LB's with only 3 spots on the field. With their size and speed, maybe they could put one into a safety spot, much like Jarell white would do on occasion.

RE: 2022 Bearcat Football
Down for the count yesterday with this spring's version of an upper respiratory virus, I found the UC vs. ND game stored in my DVR and speed watched it. If you still have access to it I highly recommend enjoying it that way. Arguably, the most important regular season victory in program history and seeing the green clad fans watch in disbelief and hearing the roar of the Bearcat faithful on those scoring drives will always provide special memories.
My safe bet for '22 is 9-3 but it occurred to me yesterday, with the way Fickell's teams play, it's at least a possibility that this year's team could be even better. UC may be reaping the rewards of continuously improving recruiting classes and player development. Drives that came up empty last year because of the abysmal field goal percentage should provide points this year (and we witnessed how the Bengals benefitted from consistent field goal production in their playoff run).
Improbable I know, but not impossible to believe that the '22 team could be better by November than the '21 version.

RE: 2022 Bearcat Football
I believe this team will be as good or maybe a notch below what we had last year, going 12-1 in the regular season (thinking we have a 50/50 shot of beating Ark in the 1st week). Yes the Razorbacks have shown improvement, but they lost a lot of talent as well. After that game, I don't see a loss on the schedule until possibly the bowl game.
I think Praeter will be named starter due to his athletic ability and the way that he can run the ball. Our front 7 on D should be as good as last year, but not as deep. I'm hopeful that the secondary will gel by Fall. Our receivers and TE's shouldn't miss a beat, but the RB's will be a work in progress. Hopefully someone takes the lead there.

I think 9-3 is a pretty safe bet, and you'll likely see 9.5 as the O/U in Vegas for wins this coming fall. I think we will be fairly significant (6-8 point) dogs in Fayetteville, and we will probably be a dog at the Bounce House and wouldn't be surprised at all to see us drop one of the games vs. ECU on a short week or at Tulsa or SMU.

I would not sleep on Arkansas. Their losses were primarily on defense and they addressed that in the transfer portal with additions from LSU, Alabama and Oklahoma. They have an athletic QB in KJ Jefferson who played very well in his 1st season, he will only be better. They have two very good RBs and a big OL.

there are some rumors out there, about a certain LSU running back, who just entered the portal this morning. will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Corey Kiner is in the portal out of LSU.
Played running back at Roger Bacon. If i remember correctly UC and LSU were his top 2 out of high school or at least those were who I thought he was down to before committing to LSU.

I'm not sleeping on Arkansas, but I feel most people/experts are sleeping on the bearcats. We'll be much better than most anticipate, and I'd be very surprised if their not playing in the conf championship game.

That would make some comments/allusions Chad made on the public BCJ Happy Hour on Youtube VERY pointed lol.
Crazy, as he was expected to be the RB1 there prior to the transfer coming in.

Good to hear. I have yet to catch Chad's thoughts on this yet, but he usually is on the dot.
Must be the Brian Kelly factor at LSU. I give the kid credit. He seemed all in on LSU while he was there. I would check his tweets here and there and he was often shouting out any LSU athletic team.

Wow. Four star, top ten RB nationally out of high school as I recall? His game is built for UC's gameplan. This would be monumental if true.

If they do land Kiner, do they really want/need a "running" QB?

Need, no. Want, maybe. I almost always prefer a pocket passer, personally. Even I would agree that adding a running element as a QB only helps in a vacuum. I just don't like the focal point of the offense taking unneeded hits.

RE: 2022 Bearcat Football
Even when the truck was carrying the ball 30-35 times a game, we still needed a second option to keep the defense honest. That option was Ridder during his freshman and soph years. There are several games that we would have lost if not for Riddder's ability to run it out of the read option. The first game against UCLA comes to mind and UCF at home in 2019. No matter how good your back is, you still need a second option.
