I hope for all the CUSA teams to do well. Playing each other over the years has been enjoyable and I hope to continue out of conference. The Sunbelt vs. CUSA thing will be solved on the field. No reason to continue that argument. I will still be watching some of the CUSA games and rooting for a lot of yall.

It isn’t really a debate. Only a fool wouldn’t be able to admit that the Sun Belt is a stronger conference. The debate is Sun Belt posters crapping all over Conference USA while thinking they are now a Power 6 conference.

Well, I can agree with you on both points. No doubt who the stronger conf is, and it’s understandable that many teams are exited and happy with being in the SBC, but I can also see how some are just a tad too much so. There are a helluva lot of games yet to be played.

From a basketball perspective, CUSA is going to be better than the Sun Belt by quite a bit. So, its not all bad. I believe the FCS schools CUSA is taking on will catch up in football in just a few years like they all did when the Sun Belt had to take a bunch.

Our issue hasn’t been with anyone staying. It’s the front office. They’ve sat on their hands and let other conferences pass them up.
The same talent at the AAC playing for the house of mouse was in CUSA but their brilliant tv contract negotiating skills led to what? Stadium, Facebook Live, Twitter, and the occasional game on CBSSports on Friday night. But to hell with the Thursday night games on ESPN that’s foolish.

CUSA 4.0 did a great job patching the open sores to stay together. There is hope left for them. I have no hard feelings towards the schools. Only the CUSA administration.
This.
Agree 100%. I’m still a fan of the CUSA teams except when they play Southern Miss.

Actually, NO, we didn't try our "hardest" to get in the Sun Belt -- we didn't even contact the Sun Belt until the October Apocalypse occurred. 100% on us to not be proactive, but also 100% just like us NOT to be proactive...and be too little, too late.
Tech and Marshall have no axe to grind. I wish we could all stay civil and speak positively of each other.

Agreed. Those who say that they did not want to, or would not still want to, are not facing reality. Trouble is they didn’t realize that they wanted to move until it was waaaaay too late.

Would have been very interesting with Marshall, La Tech, Southern Miss, and Old Dominion to the SBC... unfortunate.

Three Louisiana schools in one Division1-A conference? Would the population of Louisiana justify that?

Yeah, but how the SBC ended up is really cool with both our fans and admin.
I personally hope the current cusa arrangement stays together and provides good OOC games for us. Of course, and I am biased here, but hope that we are the dominant force for at 4-5 years.

I don't know, but you got to think La Tech and Western are the top two teams if anybody left the Sun Belt, or if the Sun Belt expanded.

You have to think at some point, there will be another round of realignment chaos down the line.

It's inevitable.. The Big 10, Big 12, PAC, or even ACC will eventually want to expand to keep up with the SEC.

But I think the AAC and SBC expanded by a couple more to give them the flexiblity to not be impacted should the Big12 come for Memphis and SMU.
They may reach into the MWC first though.

Tulane is a another. They are in a major city and the Big12 doesn't have representation in that state yet.

I'm still a firm believer that the Big 12 will eventually become completely decimated, leaving four power conferences.
And then who knows what will happen. This is why I'm thankful Marshall was able to get into a more regional conference, it could stand to lose some teams, but they have a solid footprint in the Sun Belt. Concurrently, Conference USA did a good job patching together the Frankenstein, I would love to see Conference USA add the Dakota schools.

That will be the ultimate way to quiet the yahoos who want to christen their conference ready to play for the national championship. The continual posts about how awful C-USA is going to be, how awful the team match up appeals are, how awful everything is, well it pumps me up to want to settle the issue on the field.
The JMU faithful, some who are sincere fans, and many who reside in LaLa land, seem they are guaranteed at least 8 wins perpetually. Liberty was an above average FCS team. And with Admin support, made the FBS transition easier than anyone could have expected. JMU has had success in FCS winning championships and consistently making post runs. Can JMU immediately enjoy the same success or duplicate or succeed LU? Time will tell shortly.
One of my favorite games was when LU beat JMU, at JMU to knock them out of a first round FCS game. Most, not all, of the JMU fans then were the so cocky and confident. It was pure pleasure to beat them on their home field.
The LU AD this week in a YouTube video mentioned JMU as one of the local teams LU has/will contact with about regular OOC, local games. I hope it happens.
Didn't the Liberty Pool Boys have their shot at Louisiana already? A Couple of times?
