I wonder how much money he would be willing to turn down ? If he did well as their OC, that he could be a spring board to be a head coach again, this time at a power 5 school. I think if I was Candle, especially with the new AD to be hire at UT, I would make the move, especially if he would be getting a pay raise at UM.

It's funny seeing both Miami and Toledo fans happy about this on twitter.

Word is Miami is willing to spend $2 million on an OC (reported he made approx 1.2 last year). The Miami board is raving over his offenses averaging over 30 points every year and that every year his recruiting classes are in the top two in the MAC. They actually are very excited on their board to take him off our hands. With little movement in his career at UT this would be a good move for him. If he produces at Miami the chances for a good offer as another HC are excellent, take a look at jobs other OC's are getting from P5 schools.

IF he does end up leaving, what does UT do for a new HC? Move Kehres or Kuligowski to interim HC for 2022? Would the university want OB to hire a new HC when he (OB) will be gone in a couple months?

This came out of nowhere! Candle is in a Leave or Get Fired situation here at UT.

Candle is known to be a great recruiter. I am sure that makes him desirable. We should say good things about JC. We want Miami to take him.

Jordan Strack reports on Twitter that Candle held a recruiting event on campus with 50+ juniors present today...maybe they were all offensive recruits and he was secretly recruiting them for Miami (FL).

Id pay Candle to worry about the O and nothing else. He is a good recruiter and mastermind of the O. He may just be an OC at heart and thats what he is best at... Best of luck if he leaves. A Defensive minded coach could rid us of discipline issues and make us a 10 win team again.

You mean like Amstutz.

The problems are really OL and Special Teams.

And I think the recruiting then will take care of itself without Candle. Would he then try to poach some of the Florida kids on the roster to return to Florida to play for the Hurricanes.

Miami recruits average .9265. They are getting 4 and 5 star commits. They wouldn't be poaching UT players or commits.

Median price of home in Toledo about $119,000. Miami $515,000 with little available inventory.
