CMU was scheduled to play Boise St who had to back out due to COVID, Washington St has same thing happen to them, so the 2 teams decided to play against each other in the Sun Bowl (lot better set up for TV and $$ for CMU). I mean I suppose they could stay in the Arizona Bowl and do a spring ball type scrimmage or something….
Not very complicated to understand. Central didn’t just decide last minute to go somewhere else because itd be more fun and make more money hahaha. You’re a different breed Randy. Lay off the sauce and have a great new year.

On 12/27 CMU pulls out of a bowl scheduled to be played on 12/31 in Tucson to play one on 12/30 300 miles from there in El Paso because of a 10x payday which to the best of my knowledge makes every MAC school a couple hundred thousand?
To me, that's pathetic.
I don't know how many Chips had plans but I am sure this throws a monkey wrench in many that could result in losing 100's if not 1000's in airfare, hotel and perhaps additional cost to go El Paso if they choose, can make it work.
This is pathetic.
If NIU did this, I was going to game I would be pi$$ed. You have a responsibility to fans. Oh, I am sure some big donors can afford this, maybe even get a free charter. But for the common guy, this is a kick in the nuts. And all anyone can think of is money, That's bs. I can only imagine had NIU had to move their game what the sentiment would be by those having to pay more, make arrangements. Oh, but I's sure it's ok, it's for the good of the school, suck it up would be the cry.
It's utter bs and I would have a huge issue had I had to change my plans just so my school gets to look good and make a few bucks and crap on just a few dedicated fans.
As I just admitted, I was wrong. But thanks for your thesis lecture you could have said in 2-3 sentences . Glad you could contribute your 15th post in 6 years though. Thanks for all your contributions.

They’d still lose their money because there would be no game in Tucson for CMU no matter what. They should be mad at Boise for canceling on them, not CMU.
Yes, I was incorrect. I was thinking at first they had a replacement.
The biggest jagz are Hawaii. They said covid and transfers. That's a load of bs.

Has their been any confirmation that the 20-25 NIU players who had “flu like symptoms” did or did not have Covid?

I don't think they pulled out, they were going to cancel the Arizona bowl game because Boise State came down with Covid.
The Sun Bowl decided to grab CMU who was ready to play and only 300 Miless away.
It worked out well for for all
Correct. The Chips didn't pull out! The other guys did. And Washington State's opponents in the Sun Bowl also pulled out!. So the Chips then had the pleasure of being inserted into the slot in the Sun Bowl. I am sure they will be able to get up for that game.

I live in Orange County and have started seeing NC State fans out and about. Think about all the money people have spent to travel and there is no game and very likely got the run around by the airlines with all the travel madness lately. Bummer.

To give a slot machine metaphor, You need two pulls and the Chips fall into place.

There is so much damn pulling out here that the pent up frustration is palpable. I truly feel for those forced to pull out against their desires.
