No. They've started selling tickets here (Hawaii). But it would have been better off playing there.

Last time I looked at Hawaii travel, it required proof of vax or a x-day quarantine.

Yeah, that's why the Maui tournament was in Vegas.

It says currently:

Quote:Anyone entering the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex is required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and must provide proof prior to entrance. Children under the age of 12 who are not vaccinated will not be allowed to attend. All attendees, regardless of age, must have a valid event ticket or credential to gain admission. In addition, attendees must wear face masks at all times, except when taking sips of water.

For US domestic travelers it is proof of vaccination OR negative tests from an accepted provider within 72 hours of departure for the island.

If you don't do one of the above then you get a 10 day mandatory quarantine.

The game is on Christmas Eve too. I am pretty sure that we lose money on this bowl game.

When we were in C-USA, the conference would help with the costs of the team that went to Hawaii. Unsure if we have that arrangement in the AAC.

I am sure they still do, otherwise no one in our conference could afford to go.

RE: Hawaii Bowl?!?!
Hawaii is 6-7, which makes them bowl eligible. When they are, they have a clause in their contract that makes the Hawaii Bowl offer a slot to them as the MW representative. I would be surprised if we end up playing someone other than Hawaii.

They're not required to accept the invite, but they are required to get it if they're bowl eligible. They didn't accept it last year.

You would think that they were eligible but you would be wrong.

Oh wow... I always just assumed it was 6 wins, not 0.500 that made a team bowl eligible. Learn something new every day... 04-cheers

believe they changed that rule back when teams could get an extra game if they played at Hawaii during the season.

Way to much hassle with covid, for those that go, enjoy the weather.
Ike would of preferred Fenway and Boston college or Birmingham and LSU

Most years they probably get in with a 6-7 record but enough teams got to 6-6 to fill all the bowls with 2 6-6 teams not getting a bowl

RE: Hawaii Bowl?!?!
I'm thrilled that the players get to go to Hawaii, get bowl rings, and about $1000 of stuff chosen from a bowl catalog.

I won't be there because not only is it the day before Christmas, it is my twin granddaughters' birthday. I will have a blast at home watching the game.

Whatever the Covid restrictions are, please just get vaccinated for your own sake, that of your family, and anyone else you get near. Losing THREE loved ones to it as I have is quite a tragedy. RIP Bill Craven, CBHS, U of M --- The Tigers were a HUGE part of his life.

So according to the Hawaii Bowl website the game is now played at the Ching Athletic Center, no longer at the Aloha Bowl. This "staduim" holds 9K max. What a joke that the NCAA would allow that. I bet the players will be kinda shocked when they see the field for the first time. LOL.
