They might regret the buyout but none of these jobs are opening because the head coaches are doing a great job on or off the field.

Lane is the most "Florida Man" in all of coaching...would be shocked if he wasn't announced within a month.

Ha! So true. In terms of fit, though, he certainly does seem more aligned with the fan base and history of the 'U'.

Mullen was fired today. Shocking!

Another guy who can retire comfortably if he so chooses. The SEC is the giving tree.

6 years at $1M a pop...looks like an extended stay analyzing offense in Tuscaloosa is in his future.

I have since read someone mentioning that the payments can be at least partially offset depending upon future employment. But yeah, I don't really feel bad for him.

I also saw someone speculate that a spot on Urban's staff in Jacksonville might make a nice landing spot given their history. Part of the theory being that Mullen isn't known as a particularly good recruiter.

The offset feature is common and that is why Lyle Jones was only being paid $50,000 at Bama.

Obviously it depends upon the individual, but I'd imagine a TV job where he totals at least $1M a year would be pretty tempting at this point at least for a year or two as well.

Florida is ridiculous, canning coaches who make it to the title game. They live in the past, where they think they should go undefeated every single year. It just does not work like that.

Sonny Dykes expected to be named TCU’s head coach on Tuesday: https://www.si.com/college/tcu/.amp/foot...h-football

I saw on Reddit that his contract is rumored to be in the $7 million per year range. If that is true, that’s just another indication that coaching salaries are out of control.

May not have to move as the campuses are about 40 miles apart.

$7 million considering his record is grossly overpaying.

Sonny's SMU start fast and fade:

2019 start 8-0 final 10-3
2020 start 5-0 final 7-3
2021 start 7-0 now 8-3 and Tulsa and a bowl TBD. Expect a tough game as Tulsa needs win to be bowl eligible.

UC needs to bump his salary now. The money is out there. Get it done!
