This is a game not getting much attention here so I thought I'd start a thread.

Line opened with Liberty as a 3-point favorite, effectively suggesting a pick em' with home field for Liberty. I don't see this game being any different than what we've come to expect from Louisiana.

If Levi Lewis plays average enough, Louisiana wins though it won't be pretty. If Levi Lewis steps up and plays a good game, Louisiana wins going away. I haven't been impressed with Liberty in any game I've watched and I believe that they match-up poorly with Louisiana. Their defense is solid, but so was Troy's and so was App's.

Napier likely takes the best aspects that travel and leans on it to once against grind the stone down to nothing to close the game.

Thoughts?

I am very worried about our focus the next two games. Not that there is nothing to play for but you never the mindset of 18-21 kids. If we go in reading our press, the Liberty QB and defense will make a difference.

Statistically and athletically there isn't much to separate the two teams. I believe home field advantage is important but doesn't really mean near as much as other factors. I believe the X factor here will be which QB has the best game: Lewis or Willis.

I really think this game could go either way.

Don't screw up both teams being ranked for the CCG (I know App has to do its part too).

If Louisiana loses this and App wins out then App State will likely host the CCG so the motivation for Louisiana is home field right?

No. We're still undefeated in conference. So even if (heaven forbid) we lose to ULM, we'd still beat App on the tie breaker to host.

The host site has been decided. Title game is at Cajun Field, regardless of what Louisiana does the last two games.

No, we are hosting the CCG; I got an invoice this morning to purchase my regular seat for the game. Look at the conference standings.

That depends on which Levi shows up.

Put it this way Cajuns, outside of your bowl game, this is going to be the only game you play all year where you will have all 9 SB teams rooting for you. Make us proud.

As if we didn't recognize that from the App game. He had a standalone game plan for App that he clearly spent a ton of time on relative to other teams you have played.

As for the premise, I disagree. What kind of message does it send to your team if you let them let up? Or if they see you not putting forth the same effort here? That's not Napier.

I got a weird feeling that the Cajuns are gonna lose this one.

You cannot let them beat the #1 SunBelt team. If you lose, you must forfeit your spot in the conference championship game as punishment.

You’ve lost your mind. This game was circled in the beginning of the year as one of the big matchups for the Cajuns.

Liberty
SBC Championship Game

Those 4 games will/have gotten extra game planning. Make no mistake about it this game matters. A convincing win will get us back into the teens in the Coaches and AP poll.

This is a statement game.
