USM is impressive given the last couple of years. What do they draw when they’re good?

Are you saying numbers are horrible across the board or the ODU & Marshall numbers are horrible because they both played
at a no account FL schools, one that should not have a football team and one that is going to the AAC (I take jabs at the AAC when I can at it's easy) haha
ODU can't help it that FIU is MIA

RE: Attendance: Week 10
After watching the South-TxSt game a few weeks ago. Their stadium looks good on TV, even though that night there weren’t many people in the stands. That stadium would look great full of fans.
In the days before streaming, ESPN and satellite TV, if you lived in a small college town and wanted to watch football, you went to campus, tailgated and went to the game. Unfortunately those days are gone. When you can literally watch every game, except CUSA games, from your couch, people are choosing that over the game day experience. Stadiums have to keep up, one reason I really wish South would have put chairs throughout the stadium over benches. It just adds to the comfort level for the fans.

USM like Troy draws a lot of rural spectators as it’s one of the big things to do in the area. That with a tradition of winning etc. even in down years they will still draw a decent crowd.

Louisiana would do better if they had played games like App State on Wednesday. App State is the anomaly for Thursday night this season.
I feel bad for Arkansas State. A team that usually packs fans in to not even having 1/3 of the stadium full.

Troy’s attendance I thought was very respectable given what we are dealing with. 26k (~1.5-2k USA fans were there if I had to guess).
JMU pulling 23k in a FCS game. Playing in the SBC East they should push above that.

Troy moving to the west should help as well. These regional divisions should be big for all involved.
That Arkansas St number is absolutely embarrassing for a homecoming.

We never packed fans in. Our November crowds even in pretty good years are usually awful because hunting season takes priority over football in Arkansas.
However we're battling so much disinterest in the program right now that its hard to get anyone who isn't a diehard to show up. Saturday was about 7500 die hards and 1700 alums who don't know the rules of football and were only back to for their Greek organization's reunion.

How was the atmosphere in Harrisonburg? I was at a function in Richmond last night with a few JMU grads. They obviously weren't at the game, but they were both bouncing off the walls in excitement for the announcement of the move. I had a good time filling them in on the happenings in the Sun Belt

History says it wont take us much to get good crowds. We just need some wins

That’s a near sellout for JMU. Imagine what attendance will be like when they host Marshall, App and ODU.
