Did the Cajun fans see something at the stadium? I didnt really catch any extra curricular activities unless missing something off camera. We were penalized 3 times for 12 yards all game..

Omg. I didn’t watch the replay yet, but GS played a dirty game from beginning to end.

Or that actually care about other people's atendance that much like they are Ohio State.
Right? I love how they are so very anxious to display how extremely insecure they are. I am just beginning to regret that we will not face them at CF this year.
Go back and read our game thread about Troy when we were playing in a torrential downpour. Count the number of posts criticizing our attendance.
Always the victim.
P.S. love how you were so afraid to actually face us in a CCG you were totally ok with losing to app.

I wasn’t at the game but could definitely tell there were some extra curricular activities going on after the whistle. Also had a buddy standing in the tunnel, and the GS team was talking major trash to our guys as they walked past them at halftime.

I wasn't at the game unfortunately due to my current job location, so watching on TV is very limiting for these types of observations. It definitely got chippy at times, but it appeared to be evenly distributed between both sides.
The GSU coach certainly has as much passion as any coach I've seen on the sidelines in some time. I don't see that as a fault, at all, in fact I think his passion played a huge part in how tough GSU played the entire game. Contrast to our coach who the players call Coach Chill and you see two, totally contrasting personalities, both able to motivate their respective teams. It did look like GSU was more ready to play in the first half and that was likely due to their coach's attitude and passion. However, at the end of this game and most other games in the Napier era, we usually look more poised and confident about getting a W.

i don't doubt there might have been some uhh..impolite exchange of words from either side. 18-22 years tend to be emotional. dont love it.
i thought you guys meant throwing punches in a pile or stomping on a player, something of that nature by "playing dirty."
Funny enough, my mind did wonder last night if black jerseys were practicing some wrestling moves on our QB after the forward progress was over, but not gonna fault too much in a violent game of fast moving parts. Glad no one was hurt in a physical match up last night (at least I hope no one did!)

What do you think your student section says to players? By all accounts, it's worse than anything the App fans were accused of saying to the Marshall players.
Who cares if the players talk trash to people because what they heard all game from drunk students behind them was assuredly much, much worse.
Are there any other Sun Belt schools who have the student section behind the visitor bench? ECU used to do it before they bowled in the stadium. I think moving students there was two-fold but a part of it were things students were saying to opposing players, predictably.

It was a chippy game and I don't think either team did that much more than the other in terms of chippy-ness.

Funny you say that, because the crowd of 17 people at your game tonight aren’t making a lot of noise either.
It is a Thursday.
The stadium is also really big for the demand.
I’ve been a few times.
Watch UAB vs LaTech this Saturday. There will be a couple thousand people in the new 50,000 seat stadium.
A LaTech guy I can agree with? Say it ain’t so.
He basically said your atmosphere sucks and will continue to suck because you have a big stadium LOL...wtf
Aside from the play on the field, which was terrible at times last night, the atmosphere at Cajun Field does kind of suck. The large stadium with people spread out contributes to it, but we also have very “bleh” entertainment during breaks and concessions are terrible. There’s also little in terms of fan engagement such as cheers during certain points in the game, the best we have is “and that’s another Louisiana...First Down.”

Actually he said our stadium capacity is greater than our current need. This is true and we are addressing that. 16k in your stadium vs 16k in a 38k stadium looks very different on tv.
I’m a fan of the Cajun program and I’m probably not saying anything you don’t know. But it’s incredibly perplexing to me why y’all draw so poorly. Lafayette isn’t some rinky dink town, your school is the centre of a metro of like 500k people. Your ball team is AP top 25 and you can’t draw 20k on a nice Thursday evening?
Do you feel like your athletic department is doing what they should to attract more local fans? Your student section looked solid, obviously they are showing up.
I am not attacking UL, I’m curious to your perspective though because someone is failing in the marketing department.
Yesterday’s game was weird. I live in Lafayette, there was little hype for this game. It was barely even promoted last Saturday when we had 28K for homecoming. And then this front came through yesterday morning; it was cold, high humidity, and windy. I sit on the upper deck and I thought I was dressed well in my typical stuff I wear for sub 50 degree weather and I was freezing my azz off.
Also thanks for complimenting our students. The TV angles must have been generous to them, because this was by far their worst attended game. There were 2-3 times as many students for the midweek games vs App and Ohio. There were 4 times as many students for the game last Saturday and probably 5-6 times as many students for the game against Nicholls. I can understand the big variations of student attendance between midweek and weekends, but it was weird how few of them there were compared to other midweek games. I assume that is partly due to the aforementioned lack of promotion.

Funny you say that, because the crowd of 17 people at your game tonight aren’t making a lot of noise either.
And yet our crowd tonight has still outdrawn most of your home crowds. But cool story bro…
There were no more than 8k people there last night in perfect weather.
This after the lectures in our game thread about our attendance during a deluge on a midweek night.
My point is simply about the blatant hypocrisy. I hear about how Coastal struggles with weak opponents and how our attendance sucks, and then I turn on the TV to watch one of the teams who throw the most stones about those two topics to see them losing for most of the game to a 4-4 team at home in good weather in front of less than 10k in person spectators.
The irony isn’t lost on me.
I always love dickbags who can tell attendance better from their living room across the country than people who were actually there...it’s truly amazing
As a GSU fan, can totally relate.

I was there and unfortunately, attendance was pretty bad. Midweek games are tough enough, but combine that with a short week and its worse. To put the cherry on top, the weather was awful. I had 3 layers and a blanket - and still, I was freezing. The wind was whipping around and making it feel much colder than the mid 40's.
The military fly-over was way cool. That C-130 looked like it was going to hit the lights it was flying so low.
