As Jay said, it's not so much just leaving us that caused the bitterness, but the silent treatment after they left and no OOC scheduling. Enjoy your bowl bids and TV deal!

Do you know if there any truth to what they're saying that Louisiana and Arkansas State were the "No" votes? Was everyone else OK with them but went with the wishes of Louisiana and Arkansas State? It's OK if you know and don't want to post publicly, just curious.

I don't think WKU ever came up for a vote. From the beginning the SBC was focused on USM and Marshall. Then ODU and JMU came into the mix.

If the three eastern schools didn't happen, WKU would have been considered, I'm sure. But there was never a need to really consider them.

And, if it had come to a vote, two "no" votes would not have been enough to keep them out.

That's exactly why I asked. Louisiana and Arkansas State voting "No" alone wouldn't have kept them out.

But by god Arkansas sloth U and laughette were such bullies with doodoo souls

I'd be kinda grumpy too..... Over there in CUSA looking at a future partnership with Tarleton State and Our Lady Elizabeth School for the Blind while pleading with the MAC to let them go up there and play football in the snow in front of crowds of dozens of people.

I remember the crap that spewed from MTSU and WKU fans when they went "up" to CUSA and the SBC backfilled with "JV" teams like App State and Ga Southern......

They didn't elaborate what everyone was afraid of exactly. Talk about self-important jerks. Southern Miss doesn't cling to Brett Favre as if that matters today, Louisiana doesn't cling to Jake Delhomme, but Louisiana Tech still clings to Terry Bradshaw as if he is still playing there.

My only beef with them is, while their fans say "we didn't rip the league when we left we just did what was best for us." Your actions spoke louder than your words when you refused to schedule schools from the Sun Belt. Louisiana has tried EVERY YEAR since WKU left the league to schedule a home and home in MBKB. We'd love to play home and home non conf. in football. But nope.

Through your ACTIONS, you showed you didn't want to be associated with us. You got your wish.
