With Troy moving to the West
The West will have 16 combined conference championships and the East will have 6. Arkansas State and Troy will have 12 between the 2 with both having 6 a piece.
West
stAte 6
Troy 6
UL 3
ULM 1
East
App 4
Gs 1
Coastal 1
stAte and Troy are tied with the most in the history of the Sun Belt. App is moving up the list fast and a win this year will put them at 5. stAte has the most outright titles at 3 while App and Troy are tied at 2.

For what it’s worth, the teams in the east are a lot newer than our western side.

It amazes me how App State doesn’t rebuild but just reloads. From solid coaching hires to good recruiting. That crisp mountain air has people playing out of their minds in Boone. I don’t understand why Troy & A-State can’t find that same level of consistency.

Marshall has found that kind of consistency over the last 20 years between Snyder and Doc. Oh, wait, you meant in a good way, right? my bad

That’s certainly true. But I think it gets overshadowed while majority of the west teams (and Troy) have had their inconsistencies as of late both Troy and Astate did have their time dominating the conference (much like App, Louisiana and Coastal are doing currently).

Troy’s run from 2006-2010 was quite impressive with 5 straight championships.

The conference started football in 2001. The seven east schools will have joined in 2013, 2014, 2014, 2017, 2023, 2023, and 2023.
The last west school to join the SB was the same year as the first East school. Three had been there since 2001 and a fourth since 2004 (Troy).
It's almost mathematically impossible for the east to have more conference titles than the west, unless the majority of presidents expansion titles had been won by former members

Indeed. They would have certainly been the social media darlings of CFB world of social media was more hyper connected then as it is now.
Astate’s was a little more stop and go but given the constant coaching change over still not bad to win 3 outright and 2 shared from 2011-2016

I thought he posted this just to show where all the teams stand in regards to how many they’ve won. I believe App State’s unmatched has come to an end. Coastal, GaSo, Marshall, and JMU should push App pretty consistently. If they can all get back to previous heights. Same for Louisiana in the west if A-State, Troy, and Southern Miss can return to former glory.

That's not the point of this post. Just showing who has how many titles and where everyone stands. Why is it App fans always have to gripe about everything and make excuses if they aren't shown as the best. Just be happy that yall own the East and this shows how far ahead yall are the rest of the East.
Using your logic USM, Marshall, ODU and JMU can say they just joined so the previous App titles don't count. Please just enjoy the info provided and stop trying to spin it whichever way App fans like to spin stuff.

Since we are comparing apples to oranges, the East has 13 National Championships and the West only has 1 to my knowledge.

Yeah...easy Apprising... :)
Good Info for sure. And yes, I don't see App State rattling of several more consecutive championships any time soon. If we get it this year we will be lucky, and we are 'rebuilding' next year for sure.
Parity in the conference is a good thing - with a break out team or two every year to keep the Sun Belt in the rankings consistently. It won't always be App State - and we have to live with that.
The SBC is looking sweeeeeet!!!

Your knowledge is wrong.
ULM has one, Troy has three, Arkansas State has one, Texas State has two, Southern Miss has two.
It’s also a lot easier for the East to win national titles as they have been FCS a lot longer.

Logically yes, if we're going to compare ourselves to Marshall, ODU, etc. we'd need to compare Apples to Apples.
Bragging that Marshall will never be able to catch us in SBC title won from 2010-2020 sounds ridiculous doesn't it.
Saying you have more titles when everyone in the other division was winning conference titles in other conferences is an interesting way to measure.

USM will now that the chains have been broken. Did I say how glad I am to be out of that purgatory?

I’d say the same about the original post and it’s relevance. Not crying, we don’t need to justify anything.

Funny, ULM was the only one I was aware of, thanks for educating me! Point of my post being, comparing championships obtained between East and West when all East teams are fairly new to the conference is silly.
