RE: B12 vs P12: Tale of the Tape
We don't have a heavyweight program like Clemson but on average we're probably better than the ACC too. Clemson has obviously been a top 2 program for the last 5 years but you got a lot of programs like GT, Wake, Duke, BC that bring the average down. Heck even our Keg of Nails rival have turned themselves into a bottom feeder.

Agree on the ACC sans Clemson in football. I chose the P12 because honestly I thought the AAC wasn't too far off from them.

Agree.
If the ACC and Pac12 were clearly above the Big12, they’d get paid that way. Or it would show up on the field. Neither are true, and that’s before those conferences lose their biggest brands.
Clemson is not going to watch their rivals make $400 million more over 10 years. They’ll be in the SEC soon, and once the football programs are gone, the basketball schools will have no choice. Will UVa stick with UNC and Co if the SEC instead grabs VaTech? It’s coming.

Funny because I've always believed conference affiliation is most important in football and still do but the one thing that I visualize most is getting a true blue blood into 5/3 on a regular basis. Wonder if our new fan Roy from Chapel Hill will use his Wes connection to pull for the visitor

I know this hasn't been updated yet for this week, but just curious -- are you including all losses to the new B12, FCS, and G5 in the Pac-12's records? And doing the same for the new B12 vs. P12, FCS, and G5? If you do update, I want to Tweet this at some of my OSU friends and Columbus media types I pal around with on social media who are questioning whether or not the B12 should retain its power 5/autonomy status. Thanks!

Bolded, so I'm taking from this that some OSU fans are already looking for ways to marginalize UC's move to the P5? It never ends; the Big XII is and will remain P5. Some people have no fun unless they can rain on someone else's parade.
UC is crashing the NY6/CFP party this season and some of the old guard can't stand it.

Who's Colley? Also, do we have the rankings and wins/losses for the ACC as well? I would imagine equal to or worse then the new B12 as well.

Who's Colley? Also, do we have the rankings and wins/losses for the ACC as well? I would imagine equal to or worse then the new B12 as well.
Here is what the Colley site says.
Colley's matrix method for ranking college football teams is explained in detail, with many examples and explicit derivations. The method is based on very simple statistical principles, and uses only wins and losses as input—margin of victory does not matter. The scheme adjusts effectively for strength of schedule, in a way that is free of bias toward conference, tradition, or region. Comparison of rankings produced by this method to those produced by the press polls shows that despite its simplicity, the scheme produces common sense results.
This method focuses more on "deservedness" to play in the national championship game than it does predictiveness, per se, which may be of more interest to some fans and bookmakers, who often consider margin of victory, injuries and other factors in assessing the possible outcome of a particular game.
