We had a lot going the right direction with Jim Farr. Too bad that we couldn't figure out how to pay him. Take a look at how many major leaguers he recruited and then compare that with everyone else in the last 25 years.

Hands stay inside, very short to the ball, quick bat, slightly uphill line drive swing, very strong at contact with extension through the ball, showed a good approach working gap to gap, easy power present to all fields, exit velocity was 102. Behind the plate, very quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot, short quick arm action, position velocity was 82 and pop times 1.90-2.04. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Receiving, works with a knee down or a wide stance, quick soft hands receiving. Showed versatility working out in the infield as well. Ran a 7.14 60 yard dash. ”

Late May write-up from Prep Baseball Report:

“ Pierce is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has strength present and room to add more. Defensively, plays centerfield and has speed and range there. At the plate, hits from the right side and has a very short quick swing. Did a good job on the swing in the video keeping his hands in and letting the barrel work to rip a single to left. Can extend and drive the ball as well, gap power is present to all fields with more in his future. On the mound, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a longer quick arm action and some effort to a drop and drive delivery. Fastball was 84-86 with downward angle and some late hard armside run. Curveball was 69-70 with good armspeed and big sharp 12/6 to 11/5 break. Showed ability to throw both pitches to both sides of the plate and the ability to really pound that low and away spot with his fastball. Very interesting two-way prospect that is going to help someone”
