Pretty good look at the efforts being made within the Athletic Department sell out the season and the goals for what the ticket base would look like. I really like some of the things they are trying to do.

Sorry in advance for those without an Athletic subscription.

RE: Filling Nippert
When I renewed this year the following happened.

I got reminder calls from one person
I called, left a voicemail for, and promptly got a return call from that same person.
I was able to purchase seats through that same person.
I got a follow up email with the payment breakdown within an hour, as promised. From the same person.

I was floored. It's such an easy concept that had been completely bungled in previous years.

Still one of the best bargains in all of college football. One of the best bargains locally. Awesome product and incredibly fun Saturdays.

To echo Bearcat419's point. The ticket office has gotten remarkably better. Promos to buy tickets have been great.

Kind of mind boggling that our ticket department has bungled this for years. I have season tickets for a pro soccer team with about 22,000 season ticket holders. My rep calls me a few times a year just to check in, and he actively problem solves when we have a challenge (like linking our seats with some friends). So good to hear that our athletic department is finally getting it in this realm.

One concern from the Athletic article. Tulsa is considered one of our two premier games. 03-puke

I mean, Tulsa did win the West division last year and met us in the CCG. We do not play Memphis or Houston and the OOC home games are Miami U and a FCS team. I don’t know who else you would put in there.

The home schedule is disastrous besides UCF. If it weren't likely to be the best team in school history then the schedule would really hurt sales but I think everyone knows this is a season that you want to be a part of.

I don’t know how many of you attended the last Coffee Talk with the AD but apparently they have hired a consultant to help with future OOC scheduling. This guy apparently is a former ESPN executive. Interestingly they mentioned the 2024 and 2025 season which are already filled with three FBS games. My guess is we are losing one or more of the scheduled opponents.

I'd be shocked in the Nebraska 2025 game remained . There is an opening for a good home game in 2024 and an opening for a home or road game in 2025 (one of each if we lose the Nebraska game). So those 2 years make sense. The home slate sucks in 2023 as well. It would be nice to move the Eastern KY game and find a good home game.

The slate is nice in 2022, should be fine in 2024, 2026 is solid.

Yup. At least UGone is no longer a home game. Fuggin' them and ECU just crapped the bed in our division/conference. Damn I miss the old Big East days when we could host DaVille, Pitt, WVU, etc.

Honestly UC should be playing Memphis, Houston, and UCF every season. In a divisionless format there is no reason to that games with most valuable are not played annually. I don’t think UC vs Tulsa, Tulane, and ECU need to happen any more than twice every 4 years and even seems like a lot. Navy, Temple, SMU, and USF would be my next tier.

RE: Filling Nippert
The conference will always be a rotational setup.

It is the OOC that we can try to control.

2022 IU is great, Kennesaw State sucks and MU at PBS sucks

2023 EKU sucks and MU

2024 Pitt is good, @ MU double sucks, as does @WMU

2025 MU and NB (believe it when I see it)

2026 BC is fine, WKU, MU @ PBS sucks

2027 @ MU double sucks

MU should be 2 at NIP 1 at PBS
Going to WKU and WMU is beneath us.

Would like to schedule more P12 teams. You'd think they would want some eastern 12 PM or 3:30 PM time slot road games. We've played home and homes against Oregon St and UCLA. Washington or Oregon would be a dream. USC? Fuhgettabout it. Stanford, Utah, Colorado, Zona, Zona St., Washington St., or California don't seem improbable to schedule.

From the conference's perspective, teams in the top expected echelon not playing each other in the regular season is in our best interest. Lower likelihood of losing games in the conference means higher rankings and more eyeballs for the CCG, as well as a more likely chance of making the playoff.

I don't think the PAC12 enjoys the Thursday or Friday night time slots they we consistently get for those games..

If we play TLSOTP after 3 ten win seasons we cannot file a 40,000 seat stadium then this is a total bush town.

I have Bearcats#1 slaving away so SMU can buy more players. I’ll release him after our natty.
