Yeah, no doubt about it, UL has the toughest schedule. Just the way Napier and all of Cajun Nation like it.
Our schedule of Memphis, Tulsa, Washington, you Cajuns (who are by far the better team, program, school, location, etc.), App, and Coastal would like a word.
I guess the advantage on our end is our toughest league games are at home.
Well, I stand corrected. I guess I was thinking more of the OOC games. Forgot what it was like to fear so many conf teams.
We decided to take a few years off and give everyone a break so that the conference title could be shared between everyone, so we hired Blake Anderson.
One day, you will fear us again. First we conquer UL, Second we conquer App, than we conquer the world.

Talk is cheap, free, actually. Billy Napier and staff are not. And there is a reason for that.

FAU appears to have hired their version of Tyson Summers. That coach is horrible. Probably 2-2 at best.

Why is ULM playing two good P5's? Paying bills? Getting hammered twice and severely limiting your chance to make a bowl kind of kills fan involvement.

You answered your own question. And go back and look through their past schedules; the two P5 thing is not really new for them.

There's an argument to be made programs like Troy, ULM, and Ark State left IAA too soon.

RE: Who has the hardest and easiest schedule this year
Gotta look at conference schedules 1st: Who plays both App & Coastal from the East & who plays both UL & stAte from the west.
Then look at OOC for tougher opponents.
Arky State misses Troy and has two AAC and @ Washington
ULM misses GS and has two P5s, Liberty, and a good FCS
SoAl misses GaSt has SoMiss, @BG, & @Tenn.
App misses TxSt and is @ Miami, with ECU & Marshall
GS misses ULM and is @ Ark & FAU with BYU home
GaSt misses SoAl and is @ UNC & Auburn, with Army & UNC Concord at home
I think it's between ULM & GaSt.

our OOC is UNC, Auburn, Army, and CLT.
UNC brings back the all-star cast with superstar QB going 1st round draft most likely.
Auburn is Auburn. probably underdog by 20+ points.
Army is exhausting win, lose, or draw. just praying for no injuries.
CLT is the "easy game" instead of typical FCS cupcakes on typical G5 schedule.
then the conference play rolls in.
SBC East is stacked. Might be the toughest division in G5.
Sun Belt East finished 2020 just below the Pac 12 North according to S&P.

Coastal has the easiest schedule. The toughest team they play is App. Their OOC games are all very winnable. Their weak schedule will prevent them from being ranked to high.
There’s a considerable argument that will say the exact opposite of this also. Their weak scheduling is part of the catalyst that allows teams to ascend to new heights. Coastal had a fairly easy schedule last year. Kansas was their P5 and highly winnable. BYU was overhyped as usual and played right into Coastal hands. Espn loved that game from a talking points standpoint, which in turn helped boost ranking. Coastal was legitimately good last year. However, all of our conference advancements would have been heavily impacted last year had coastal scheduled an SEC money game not named Vandy/Kentucky/USCar. All of this to say, scheduling matters but maybe not as much as it should. An easy schedule doesn’t bar a team from greatness. If I recall, UCF had a pretty pound cake soft schedule during one of their runs.
Edit: Liberty was also really good last year and will likely be good again this year. They had some pretty harsh games on paper and seemed to be scrutinized much more. That final game was great between you two ex rivals.

Coastal also had almost no restrictions related to practice and gathering, while somehow having no COVID cases until the Conference Championship Game.
This year they will face teams far more prepared and I expect them to fall back to 6 or 7 wins as a result.

6 or 7 wins would be a extreme drop, especially since they should go 4-0 in OCC. The fall practice Coastal got last season was a big advantage for them ,that they wont have this year, along with a full year of film and study on their QB and offense. In spite of those, they are a good team, that is capable to win all their games. chances are they wont, maybe dropping 2 or 3 in the process. 9 wins should be Coastals floor.
