Ostensibly some other schools in the conference also have football. Sometimes it's hard to tell though.

Y'all shouldn't still have your feelings hurt about us pointing out that we had football in 2015 and 2016 - those chants were directed at your president and the board of trustees. We were just helping the fans and students in their efforts to get the program back (and it worked, y'all should be thanking us for helping make your point).

Every time we play UNT or UTEP we chant "we have baseball" not to mock them, but to help convince their administration to add some sports. It's a public service we provide.

We also have bowling, by the way. Let us know if you want us to pressure any of your athletic departments into putting together a bowling team.

Your band, while acting as representatives of their university, was chanting “we have football” during the conference basketball tournament game while you were playing UAB. That took place three months after the football program was eliminated. You can spin it anyway you want but it won’t change what actually happened or the way UAB fans feel about UL-Ruston

FAU is 14-5 vs FIU, giving them credit for the year they cheated and they had to vacate the win. We enjoy beating them. But the series is so lopsided they decided to make the University of Miami their chief rival. Which is ok, since we enjoy hosting the Shula Bowl Trophy at our place.

For some schools it doesn't matter if it's lopsided. The biggest rivalry in our state has always been UT vs. A&M until things simmered down after A&M left for the SEC and the two don't face each other as often anymore (not even once since then in football btw). At any rate, UT has dominated A&M in football, basketball, baseball, track (and probably others too), but in terms of the rivalry it just never mattered. UTSA has so far won 4 of 4 from Texas State in football, but both of our schools get up for that matchup as well since only an hour or so separates us.

It's not just about football though either, as you guys play each other in baseball, basketball, and everything else also. It just seems, so far anyway, as though you both missed the boat, with you not only being so close, but also having been established just 4 years apart, and now even being in the same conference since 2013. Hopefully it'll develop into something bigger soon because I think it'll be better for both of your schools and for the conference.

My reasons to dislike each of the other football programs in C-USA West....

UAB- because they're the champs
LA Tech- because we are bigger and have more advantages, but still haven't made this a competitive series
UTSA- because they do things wrong.. like build that ugly cannon
Rice- because we will probably never reach their academic level
UTEP- because they struggle to be the only game in town
USM- because North Texas is the original Eagles team

I haven't been on this forum much lately and just noticed the comment about our basketball pep band tweaking UAB fans with "we got football." Well, the Hoop Troop is famous, or infamous, and is considered one of the very best basketball pep bands, especially for their creative harassment. They have been called down by the university at times for going too far. But, it's all in fun.

Rice's MOB has been known to be kind of brutal too, with some editorial commentary. Just got to have thick skin and consider that it is all friendly banter.

I'll tell you who I hate the most in the conference. It's the ******* moron announcer on C-USA TV who keeps referring to us as "UT-San Antonio". He gets UAB right of course. We're not "UT-San Antonio" any more than UAB is ******* "UA-Birmingham" though. ******* amateurs who talk before national audiences but don't do their ******* homework piss me off like nothing else.

Doesn't help that we're laying an egg for the second straight week, as we let Rice take the first two last week, and now let UAB take the first two this week.
