RE: Basketball Recruit Updates
The ONE thing I'm excited for so far next season is the return of Fornes. I think that has the chance to be something that's a lot of fun to watch. Especially now that he's older and stronger.

Haha, ain't that something... That's the one thing i'm not. However, if they add the right pieces elsewhere, a veteran leader that can shoot isn't a bad thing.

Agree. Will be interesting to see who the alpha is on the team next year. Lots of guys who in theory should be able to score the ball.

Sims should be that guy.

Looks like the staff is thinking 2 bigs and best available judging from interest in Louisville WG.

Ezuma committed to Ohio today. Hope we can get a few good bigs at some point.

That's too bad, that's two bigs now in a few days that would have helped us that committed to(what should be) lesser programs. Also interesting looking at VC, it looks like Ohio already has substantial depth at the PF position.

Ohio has been good over the years, still would have liked to see him or someone like him in the fold to bolster front court.

Yeah, hurts multiple ways, A, the Hargrave connection. He's recruited that well in the past. B, not sure why this guy would choose there given the depth at the position.

Ohio assistant coach Lee Martin was the HC at Hargrave until this past season and had already coach Ezuma. I wasn't aware that they had offered him, but it makes a ton of sense that's where he ended up. Tough loss because he's going to be good player right away in my opinion.

Makes sense in terms of coach. I don't know though, you look at that depth chart, he's got some people to jump for PT.

RE: Basketball Recruit Updates
Answering my own question from earlier. Although I haven't found definitive answers, I've read the portal doesn't close and players have until July 1 to enter the portal and be eligible for the next academic year. I don't think they have to commit to a new school until school starts.

As anxious as everyone is to evaluate next year's team and outlook, this is going to be a long process.

Also, per Jeff Goodman, "DePaul and Minnesota both currently have 9 scholarship guys transferring out. St. John’s and Utah close behind with 8."

To be fair, three out of those four schools fired their coach.

Why is everyone so caught up in comparisons? The point is simple. There is plenty of time, and this may well stretch into July due to the rules around transfers. There is an unprecedented level of freedom of movement for players, and there is an avalanche of players in the transfer portal. Doesn't really matter why.

Siddle is going to have a very specific type of player he needs at the five. It can't be just any big man. Better to be patient and get a player that fits the system, then get one that sits the bench.

Simmer down. You are way too defensive. My response was in no way indicative of Siddle or the program.

Just to add more context, the schools listed by Bricks a la Goodman were only including P6 programs.

Thanks for that context; I didn't see that qualifier. My main take away is how unusual this is. I think all of the hand wringing is useless, especially when you consider how it is impacting all conferences and all schools.

Got it, so, we shouldn't be concerned at all when we have one guy over 6'6 and recruits that looked very promising with connections to our staff go elsewhere. Got it. How's your unicorn piss taste in your coffee? Maybe i should get some of that

No doubt...and with conference games starting tomorrow, there's no time to prep.
