They all want more playing time.
2 were given the keys, but were too inconsistent to keep them.
The others had incomplete games - but were not willing to accept lesser rotation rolls.
Unfortunately, this is the new norm. Bench guys leave.
Next conflict will be between Malcolm and Cisse. With Sam coming on board, one of the other bigs is not going to be content with part-time minutes.
Penny could go with an old-school big boy line up with two on the floor at once if one of them could hit from 10 feet consistently
pound it inside to get the other team's stretch 4's on the bench in foul trouble before they burn us too much on the other end

Spot on. I don’t think this is as complicated as it’s being made out to be.
If they are leaving because of Sam then Penny must've told them they dont have much potential anyway. Sam if definitely a year away from being a year away.
Sort of like Cisse really but there are places where a player of Cisse's skills can get paid & other colleges who would love to have him where he probably would be told he'd get more PT (given the prospective presence of Dandridge & Sam A coming in to take minutes). And there's probably still an LSU option where he gets the promise of more college minutes & gets paid at the same time. Cisse has a lot of people in his ear.
This sounds like the biggest crybaby mentality on the planet. Stunning idea that other big men might be on the team in the event that someone gets hurt, gets in foul trouble, etc. A true 5 star shouldn’t be afraid of Dandridge or Sam taking their minutes.
How about this? So Cisse gets more PT, but all that does is further expose his weaknesses. I’d say he improved this season, but Penny protected him A LOT too.
If Cisse is mad about playing time he is not being honest with himself and needs a reality check.
Towards the end of the season the dunks and putbacks were disappearing because as soon as he caught the ball in a position to score...Teams just fouled him and it was like a turnover and other times he just couldn't catch the passes cleanly. Defensively and on the glass he was stellar...But this team needed scoring punch at times and going with smaller lineup gave them that.

Maybe Sam can hit a 10 footer...
Because I wouldn't count on two 30% FT shooters to be able to hit anything further than 4 ft away from the basket.

if he could, then we could play big, rebound everything, even mix in some 1-2-2 and 3-2 zone against the small, quick teams
And if i were one of those big men, the 10-15 turnaround shot is what i would work on all summer long, along with free throws and conditioning

Ike has always said we need a Dude who can bust the Trey Ball
Ike always asks if a Dude can bust the 10 ft. J or the 15 ft. J
It is nice to have the Trey Ball but, a necessity to have the 10 and 15 ft. J

I don't want either of them to try anything more than 6' from the basket.

I always wondered about the kid and his H.S. team being terrible.
This tweet makes sense why he left though...He felt he was going to come in and be an immediate star. He seemed to have the tools...Speed, Strength and athleticism.
Penny needs to start evaluating these kids personality\mindset before offering. He is going to learn that he is not the recruit whisperer. Pick the kids who you fit your coaching style.
