Ah what memories. Wife and I were at the game screaming at Scotty to get out of bounds like most everyone else!! What a magical year 2008 was until the Montana playoff game.

2008 was one of my favorite seasons. So many great memories. I believe the following week was the Hail Mary catch at Villanova. Wasn’t 2008 also the year of the punt return TD against UD?

A rematch with a healthy Rodney in Chattanooga would have been icing on the cake though. Too bad it didn’t happen.

It wasn't the year of the Cortez Thompson punt return against UD (that was 2004). But you might be remembering the great comeback to beat the reigning 3 peat FCS champions, Appy State. That was also in 2008, and was ignited by Scotty McGee's kickoff return beginning the 2nd half.

Scotty McGee's kickoff return against App State, the Ultimate Comeback. The best college game I have ever seen. Was there and the place was absolutely nuts all game long.

You are right Old Dawg. I knew there were three comebacks in 2008 and Brian nailed the third one. So many memorable games in 2004 and 2008. The last three NC games were great seasons but JMU was more dominant and FCS was more watered down. In 2004 & 2008, the final outcome was more in doubt most games.

That 2008 defense was pretty stout too. Turnovers killed us against Montana. Without those, we would have won by a couple of touchdowns even without Rodney.

We are "playoff eligible" but not CAA AQ eligible without another CAA game. In theory we would have an at large shot, but not sure its a lock without another game.

UD is open this weekend ... so is W&M i think.
