Quote:In "Surf City," the Beach Boys sang that there were two girls for every boy. But in Swamp City, there are four cops for every Congressman.
That doesn’t refer to Washington D.C.’s already huge concentration of law enforcement and multiple overlapping police forces. Washington D.C. has the highest ratio of police to people of any major city in the country. There are 650 officers for every 100,000 residents in D.C. That’s 40% higher than any other major city in America including Chicago and Baltimore. It has a 58% higher police ratio than New York, more than double that of Boston, and triple that of L.A.
But that’s nothing compared to the private police force dedicated only to protecting Congress.
The Capitol Police, which has been in the spotlight since the Capitol Riot, has over 2,000 sworn officers. Pelosi’s private police force is the 19th largest police force in America.
It’s already larger than the police forces of Atlanta, Baltimore, Denver, and Milwaukee.
While Democrats advocated defunding the police, their private police force budget shot up from $375 million in 2016 to $460 million in 2020. And now it’s demanding even more money.
Speaker Pelosi claimed, “It's going to take more money to protect the Capitol in a way that enables people to come here."
How much money? Who knows.
Colonel Bowie managed to hold off the Mexican Army at the Alamo for over a week with a few hundred men, but the Capitol Police couldn't keep Congress for an hour with a thousand.
Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman, told Congress that she needed funding for 212 new sworn officers and 111 dignitary protection agents. That's a fancy name for the congressional version of secret service agents for "high-profile members of Congress." Teams of four of these “agents” accompany their important charges. Since then, the number of agents has been increased and there are six dignitary agents protecting every single “high-profile member of Congress”.
(Some dignitary protection agents had even been deployed to protect the homes of “high-profile members of Congress” during the Capitol Riot and weren’t available to help during the fighting.)
That would take the Capitol Police up to at least 2,200 sworn officers. And with 535 elected officials in the House and Senate, that’s a ratio of 4 cops for every congressman and woman.
Meanwhile the high-profile members get a private security detail of 6 cops.
While the names of those high-profile members are not available for security reasons, these likely included senior leadership figures in both parties as well as high-profile politicians who attract a lot of threats. That would likely include some members of the Squad and other Democrat proponents of police defunding. Or defunding other people’s police anyway.
While Democrats have advocated for police defunding, their House and Senate majorities currently enjoy some of the densest possible ratio of police for them and their employees.
House members had 3,695 staffers (total 6,880 nationwide) and Senate members had 2,342 staffers (total 4,120 nationwide) working in their D.C. offices for a combined 6,037 people.
That's up from 146 in 1891, and 304 in 1943, which is understandable since our government works much better now than when we won WW2.
Between members of Congress and their staffers (not to mention kits, cats, sacks, and wives), that’s over 6,500 people to be protected by 2,200 sworn officers. Or a cop per 3 employees.
Even Vatican City, with the highest police ratio in the world, is more modest than that.
The shopkeepers of Kenosha would have appreciated that kind of police ratio during the Black Lives Matter riots that robbed them of their livelihoods with the backing of the Democrats.
But it stands to reason that the big government elites of the political faction that embraced police defunding not only need their own private police force, but that while the people in the cities whose police forces they want to defund have to make do with 440 officers per 100,000 people in Chicago and 320 officers per 100,000 people Detroit, they enjoy a 1 officer per 3 people ratio.
Police defunding means no cops to answer the call in Seattle or Minneapolis, but 4 cops for every Democrat Congressman whose life is much more important than those of mere taxpayers.
Some might argue that Republicans also enjoy the benefit of a private police force. But that’s not how Speaker Pelosi sees things. According to Pelosi, Republicans are the enemy.
Speaker Pelosi insisted on “more security for members, when the enemy is within the House of Representatives, a threat that members are concerned about.” Who is this enemy within?
“We have members of Congress who want to bring guns on the floor and have threatened violence on other members of Congress,” Pelosi incited. If members have actually threatened violence against other members, why doesn’t she file charges? But Pelosi has admitted that she wants more cops to protect Democrat members of Congress from Republican Congressmen.
If the “enemy is within the House of Representatives”, then the only solution is to turn the Capitol Police into a Praetorian Guard to accompany Democrat police defunders everywhere. And then Republicans can create their own police force to protect them from the Democrats. If America is going to live out the last era of the Roman Empire, we might as well do it in style.
And since history has been cancelled on account of racism, Pelosi will be really surprised when Chief Yogananda Pittman threatens to replace her unless she ups the ‘donativum’ to the force.
Meanwhile the calls for more money and more personnel for the Capitol Police continue to grow.
D.C. is already the most overpoliced city in America. And yet somehow, no one could manage to cope with one day of riots. The Capitol Police, with 2,000 sworn officers, over 1,000 of whom were on duty, claimed that they couldn’t cope with the riot and needed the National Guard.
The D.C. police force, with 3,750 sworn officers, the Park Police, which was also on the scene, and the multitude of other law enforcement personnel and services, some you have heard of, like the FBI, and some which you may have not like the Supreme Court Police (yes, they exist), the D.C. Protective Services Division, and the Federal Protective Service, couldn’t help either.
Washington D.C. is the epicenter of law enforcement in the country. There are more law enforcement personnel in the imperial city than anywhere in the country. And there are more individual agencies, services, and sub-services with armed personnel than anyone can count. Nearly every federal agency has its own private police. Some have SWAT teams. These are often attached to the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) departments based out of D.C.
Four years ago, the Obama administration sent a contingent of heavily armed agents wearing body armor on a Department of Defense plane to Chicken, Alaska, a town of 17 people, on an EPA investigation of Clean Water Act violations that turned up absolutely nothing. If the Democrats could do this to Chicken, Alaska, one of the furthest places in America, they can manage to protect 2 square miles and a handful of buildings with thousands of officers.
Four cops for every Congressman is more than enough in Swamp City, USA.
She knows the evil she's perpetrating and what it'll take to protect her sanctimonious bony senior ass from the masses. The clock is ticking on her reign. It's just a matter of time.
Quote:Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, bemoaned the military presence in the U.S. Capitol on Monday, suggesting to Newsmax TV that the Democrats have misplaced priorities and threats.
“It is easier to cross the border illegally into this country than it is to get a Capitol tour in the United States right now,” McCaul said on “The Chris Salcedo Show” with a snicker.
“And I think this fencing, look its all threat based, but we got to starting thinking about ‘OK, let’s start taking this down.' Let’s start letting these Guardsmen and women, who I really feel for them and I really respect them a lot, I appreciate their service, but, I think they need to get back home.”
The comment by the 59-year-old nine-term incumbent, who represents Texas’ 10th Congressional District northwest of Houston, followed a discussion on Thursday of the House of Representatives due to a perceived security threat. The Senate remained in session and no threat developed.
“Well there was a threat,” McCaul said. “And I did get briefed on that on March 4. Obviously, it wasn’t credible. Nothing happened. As you know, in the Capitol, we’re surrounded by razor wire, and all the National Guard.
Quote:On Monday’s broadcast of WMAL’s “Mornings on the Mall,” Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) stated that it “can’t be” that we’re “stopping the fencing on the border, and yet, we’re trying to fence in our Capitol.” Norton also said that “we’re overreacting to January 6,” and Congress is “afraid of its shadow.”
Norton said, “As you may have heard, on March the 4th, the House left early because of a threat for March 4. You will note that nothing happened on March 4. Now we have a Congress ahead — afraid of its shadow.”
She added, “[T]he president is already stopping the fencing on the border, and yet, we’re trying to fence in our Capitol. That can’t be.”
Norton later stated, “I think, again, because we’re overreacting to January 6, I think the notion of a standby National Guard for a while, as long as they’re not surrounding the Capitol isn’t something that I would object to. I’d certainly hate to see it happen. But I think what it amounts to is a gradual pulling back of what we’re now seeing at the Capitol. So I think that, too, will gradually go away.”
Quote:The Capitol Police chief's authority in times of crisis should be increased, according to a controversial Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol breach review undertaken by retired Army Lt. Gen. Russel Honoré and his task force.
Other recommendations include the deployment of a mobile fencing option, an upgrade in member security, and changes in how regional law enforcement interact, Roll Call reported Monday.
Honoré, who coordinated relief efforts in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, was chosen by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in January to look into improving security at the Capitol complex. But Republicans, such as Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., have blasted the decision considering Honoré's previous comments, including that Capitol cops "allowed their buddies" to ignore police lines.
"General Honoré has issued a number of the delusional rants that would disqualify him from even a jury pool on these questions, and yet he's in charge of this review," Gaetz said earlier this month.
Congressional hearings since the breach have shown the structure of the Capitol Police Board to be inefficient and in need of an overhaul, especially after former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund stated it was difficult to get approval from the board for National Guard assistance as the crowd encroached on the Capitol.
It was also revealed Maj. Gen. William Walker, the commander of the D.C. National Guard, was not given permission to send troops to the Capitol until some 3 hours after the complex was breached.
Honoré concluded the law should be changed to give the Capitol Police chief the authority to ask for help from other law enforcement agencies and the National Guard without needing the approval of the Capitol Police Board in "extraordinary emergency circumstances, when necessary to prevent the loss of life or wanton destruction of property and to restore governmental functions and public order."
Quote:Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) told Breitbart News on Wednesday that Democrat representatives, not Republicans, are being provided Secret Service protection per House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) directives.
The federal government built concrete barriers alongside fencing with razor wire surrounding the Capitol following violent riots on January 6, ostensibly to protect against a threat of “domestic terrorism” from conservative supporters of former President Donald Trump.
Tuberville contrasted Washington, DC’s, reaction to unrest on January 6 with dozens of violent and destructive leftist-driven riots in large American cities in 2020.
“In the last year, we had 230 riots,” Tuberville said. “A lot of them were very disruptive, people [and police] injured, and then there’s one in here in Washington, DC, which should have never happened … on January 6th. People should go to jail. They are going to jail.”
Tuberville said he and his senator colleagues “have not been told one thing” about any intelligence regarding threats to their security related to increased security in the nation’s capital for politicians.
“This is all coming from the other end of the Capitol building, which is the House, Fort Pelosi,” Tuberville remarked. “Nancy Pelosi is in charge of all this. She was in charge of it when it all happened. The chief of police [and] sergeant-at-arms resigned, and [Pelosi] should have been right behind them, because she should have been on top of this.”
He added, “Now [Pelosi] wants to protect her and her group down there. They’ve all got huge [security]. American taxpayers are paying for these black SUVs with Secret Service going around with these all these Democratic congressmen up around the Hill, not Republicans, but Democrats.
“If you feel like you can’t handle this, go home,’ Tuberville said of Democrats framing themselves as threatened. “Just go home.”
Tuberville described the $1.9 trillion spending bill, marketed by Democrats and left-wing media as a “COVID-19 relief” package, as a “bank heist.”
“The two trillion dollars they passed … is not for COVID,” Tuberville stated. “It’s payback for getting elected, and paying all their buddies and these bad mayors and governors off across the country. We gave them $350 billion dollars, now how much could we use that for our roads and highways and for the military to actually help the American people?”
He remarked, “This was the biggest heist. It was a bank heist of the taxpayers’ money. … and we only debated it for 25 hours. and you’d think you would debate it for two or three weeks.”
“It’s the biggest scam to take American taxpayers’ money I’ve ever seen,” he added.
Tuberville contrasted President Joe Biden’s approach towards immigration with the White House’s supposed consideration of COVID-19 as a primary threat to national welfare.
“President Biden and the Democrats have to make a decision,” Tuberville determined. “Are they going to be for the American people, or are they going to be for illegal immigrants? Are they going be for getting rid of the pandemic, or are they going to be for illegal immigrants coming over and being given amnesty, citizenship, and a voting card? So they chose illegal immigrants, because the COVID is coming over with them every day.”
Tuberville said H.R. 1, named the For the People Act, would make America a one-party state run by Democrats if enacted as law.
If it were to pass, it’d be over,” he warned. “This country would be a Democrat socialist communist country in a short period of time, because there’d be no way that [Republicans] could get [elected]. Even in Alabama, I got sixty-something percent of the vote. We’re a huge red state — a conservative Christian state — but if they were to be able to manipulate [elections] through the federal government … I’d probably have a tough time winning in the state.
Tuberville noted left-wing and Democrat ideological hostility towards Christianity.
“They hate Christianity — absolutely hate it — so we’ve got to stay positive,” Tuberville concluded. “We understand why we’re here. Things will change it might get worse before it gets better, but we’ve got to stay with our moral values. We’ve got to fight for our kids in schools. We’ve got to fight for an education that teaches this country’s fundamentals, not this socialism communism junk that they’re teaching these kids. … I’ve been an educator for years, and it just really gets me sometimes.”

Quote:House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s task force to review and make immediate recommendations to bolster the Capitol building’s security after the January 6 breach included two retired generals who expressed anti-Trump or pro-Black Lives Matters views, which may bolster Republican claims that the task force was not bipartisan enough.
One of the retired generals on the 16-member task force is Army Lt. Gen. (Retired) Karen Gibson, who has written anti-Trump commentary in letters to the editor and op-eds. She is currently the Senate Sergeant at Arms, in charge of protecting senators.
She wrote in a July 19, 2020, letter-to-the-editor that Trump was acting like an “autocrat” and called for voting Republican Sen. Steve Daines (MT) to be voted out if he did not stand up to Trump. She wrote in the Billings-Gazette:
I am appalled by President Trump’s latest action to erode the independence and integrity of our justice system by commuting Roger Stone’s prison sentence. Granting clemency to a political ally, particularly one convicted of lying to protect him, is a tactic straight from the autocrat’s playbook.
Gibson also wrote in a June 19, 2020, op-ed in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that she supported an essay by former Defense Secretary James Mattis condemning Trump, and she criticized the deployment of National Guard troops in D.C. during the summer of 2020.
She wrote:
American service members vow to defend the unique ideals on which our nation is founded, such as freedom of speech and peaceful freedom of assembly.
Like other veterans who sacrificed to defend them, it has pained me to see these essential freedoms violated, especially on the streets of our nation’s capital, and it chills me to think of employing the U.S. military, particularly active duty forces, for domestic political purposes as though America were some authoritarian dictatorship. I cannot voice my fears as eloquently as James Mattis, so I have let his moving essay speak on my behalf.
Contrary to views about deploying National Guard forces to D.C. during the summer of 2020, the task force Gibson served on recommended a quick reaction force that could be staffed by National Guard forces or members of the military to protect the Capitol year-round.
Another retired general on the task force expressed support for Black Lives Matter movement, whose protesters took to he streets after the death of George Floyd, sometimes causing injury to police officers and destruction of property.
Army Maj. Gen. (Retired) Linda Singh wrote in a Q and A with the Baltimore Business Journal, “The Black Lives Matter movement has spurred long overdue conversations. Now we need to use the momentum to create change.”
The task force was led by Army Lt. Gen. (Retired) Russel Honoré, who had also made many anti-Trump partisan and controversial statements.
He has referred to U.S. Capitol Police officers as “a–hats” and has claimed that they “allowed their buddies” into the Capitol during the January 6 breach, and that 30 to 40 percent of them are “Trumpsters,” according to Fox News.
Before the task force, Republicans expressed concern that the task force was not bipartisan enough. They wrote in a letter to Pelosi, “Although we are grateful for his service to our country, [Lt. Gen.] Honoré has made many comments critical of U.S. Capitol Police officers and certain Members of Congress — statements that call into question the supposed impartiality of his review.”
After the task force issued its report this week, Republicans again expressed concern during a closed door meeting that the review was not bipartisan, according to CNN.
“This was not a bipartisan investigation, this was Nancy Pelosi’s investigation,” Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) told CNN.
He said the Honoré task force is calling for “a lot of requests for money, not a really comprehensive plan at all,” questioning the report’s call for an additional 900 U.S. Capitol Police officers and members of USCP’s force, when he said there were only 232 vacancies on January 6.
The Washington Post editorial board also called into question why more resources were needed, when the Capitol Police is one of the best-funded police forces in the country. It said:
One would not know from reading the report that the agency is already one of the largest and best-funded police departments in the country. With a budget of more than $460 million and 2,300 employees, it is roughly equivalent to the police forces of cities such as Atlanta. It is charged with guarding two square miles.
A Republican at the briefing asked the task force members if any evidence materialized showing a GOP member was involved in planning the attack and the answer was no, a source told CNN.
