It appears that both GCU and UVU have locked up the top two seeds. This next weeks matchup will determine who's #1. But both will have first round byes in Vegas. Strange, strange season.

Honestly, at this point, I don't know what NMSU will accomplish. I honestly believe they CAN beat anyone in a single elimination tournament, but I don't think NMSU has shown the type of consistency that would make me believe that they will.
I'm also not certain we will have a very healthy team either. Remains to be seen.
GO AGGIES!!!!

These numbers changed Saturday though if they are correct from the get go. Also not making up the Seattle U game seems odd being that It's factoring into the seeding. All that said top 2 seeds get a bye, also interesting that GCU isn't listing the UTRGV games on their schedule. I would assume then this formulas final calculations will be different than what WAC Hoops Digest has listed.

Yeah, I don't know if they are accurate or not. I just found it interesting.

Unless NMSU figures out the chemistry and bench Henry, NMSU will probably be one and done. It's crazy the talent being wasted on the bench.

RE: What will your team do in Vegas?
One thing I think most would agree on (maybe lol) is that
With a small field,
less rounds for some teams,
an uneven regular season in terms of getting the normal home and home series,
or even any series in some cases,
and perhaps less clear, definite seeding than most years,
that this will be an unusual tournament where few things would be all that surprising. Fewer things seem as unlikely or impossible. Even the chance that teams that haven't met in the regular season could meet for the first time in the tournament is unusual.
I'm not sure if anything would surprise me at this point.
Point of order, what exactly is the status of Cal Bap, playing in the tourney but not being able to get the bid? What is the procedure in place if they happened to win it?
Fwiw, the seeding formula seems about as good as it could be. Nothing jumps out as being horribly skewed, to me.

I'd assume its either who wins the WAC regular season or the team that loses to CBU in the final...
I would have liked to have seen DSU and TSU join the WACT b/c it makes zero sense to have CBU in the WACT.

The decision has been made that if CBU wins the tournament title, then the WAC regular season champ will go to the NCAA, regardless of who CBU beats in the final. Of course what happens in this scenario if UVU and GCU split this weekend and are co-champs?

GCU and UVU cannot tie. They have not played an equal number games.

That's exactly what I thought... but once the final goofy formula numbers are crunched after a split, they'll be identical. Hence, co-champs. C.R.A.Z.Y.

And now here's just another dumb thing to finish out this covid bball season.... turns out the NIT will invite a smaller number of teams this month and no regular season champs are guaranteed spots, breaking with their long-standing tradition. Dang. It might be a sparse post-season for WAC teams.

Maybe. I'm guessing the CBI and CIT are not happening either.

Hello Hairy Castaway. Glad to have a UVU fans on this forum. They're few and far in between.
Most of the poster on this forum are Aggies but Tarleton fans are quickly becoming just as obnoxious. Can't throw a rock around here without hitting Texan now... Tarleton State, UTRGV, Abilene Christian and so on...

Agreed. (truly disappointed Aggies didn't sweep TSU) And I am concerned that texas football will soon run this conference and this board.
