Well that's a first losing a position coach to the NFL .. But the Viator hire makes sense now

App lost Rowe to the Colts. In 2019 App lost Ken Dorsey to the Bills.

Yes it does, if that's the plan. If not, I don't think Billy will have a problem finding a good OC. He comes in and does a great job, he could follow Billy to whatever job he'll end up taking or be in the running to replace Billy as HC. Either way, it will be a hot job!

Losing both your OL coaches in the last year is a big hit. One was a very unfortunate loss but they were a very good pair.

Will be interesting to see how that unit continues with a new coach.

Whomever gets the OL job at UL will inherit a very good returning unit along with a lot of returning and incoming talent. It should be an attractive position for the lucky coach that gets the job. Since Napier did not replace Coach Looney after his untimely death, it will be interesting to see if Billy hires a combination OL/OC or splits the duties and hires two different individuals to handle those duties or promotes from within.

WKU fired their OL, Coach Goff, yesterday because he didn't mesh well with their new OC that runs an Air Raid. But Goff is a really good OL coach.

Louisiana Ragin #Cajuns are finalizing a deal to make #FAU OL coach Jeff Norrid their new OL coach, sources tell @SINow.

Norrid has stops as an analyst/assistant at Arkansas, Alabama & Auburn. He worked with UL coach Billy Napier at Bama, helping Tide to three national titles.

Coach Norrid taking on the challenge of moving up from CUSA to the Sun Belt! ?

Louisiana has hired SHSU's OL/RGC Darnell Stapleton. Stapleton was supposed to go to Western Michigan as a TE coach but switched to UL.

If that's true it might work out well for us to take Goff while they take the OL coach we just hired. Our new OL coach has an impressive bio but it seems he's been a part of great passing offenses wherever he goes. I hope he's good at teaching inside zone.

Not really a coach, but an off-the-field personnel move:

https://footballscoop.com/news/sources-g...personnel/

Quote:Sources tell FootballScoop that Black Knights director of scouting, Danny Payne, is leaving West Point to join Chad Lunsford’s Eagles staff as director of player personnel.

We've also hired former GS QB Favian Upshaw (I remember him as the dude that hit 27 MPH on a TD run against Bowling Green) as RB coach, and Matt Transue from Virginia Tech as Director of Football Operations.

Feels like that way to me too. Seems like yesterday and here we are, his 3rd coaching stop since graduating. Came here from Tulane. If time flies that fast, I might as well fill out my medicare application and wait for AARP to send me the newest subscription info.
