Never like playing NIU on the road late in the season... usually a blustery wind tunnel...

Ditto this. Also hate that the CMU game is on a Wednesday.
Tough schedule. Four good OOC opponents. Buffalo and Kent State are good teams out of the East. Toledo, NIU and EMU all on the road. Thank God we play Akron.

RE: 2021 Schedule Released
Echoing in agreement. Not sure why it's so difficult for the MAC to ensure the 3 or 4 key rivalry games are played on an October Saturday.
And ending the season at DeKalb every other year doesn't seem like a random coincidence anymore.

RE: 2021 Schedule Released
I don't normally complain about the schedule but this is awful.
Pissed AF CMU isn't a Saturday game
@NIU always a very late road game
The mid-week games are on Tuesdays is a total joke
Hi-lights:
Hosting CMU
Hosting non-con G5 is always fun, this year SJSU
4 home Saturday games
Also, I've been optimistic & have been predicting at least 7 wins every season since TL took over, but I'm concerned about this season. It's a tough schedule.

Agree with everything that's already been said, especially about it being a tough schedule.

RE: 2021 Schedule Released
Yup at NIU to end the season is a recipe for disaster, especially for a TL coached team.
****** ass weather and 40 MPH winds. We lose even to the worst NIU teams there.

RE: 2021 Schedule Released
We have the toughest non-con schedule in the MAC. We'll really see what Lester and Eleby are made of.
Kent State's is also tough:
@ Texas A&M
VMI
@ Iowa
@ Maryland

If people are actually allowed to attend, shame on the MAC for putting the CMU game on a Wednesday. What a joke. Why bother with season tickets unless you are from west Michigan.
This game should ALWAYS be on a Saturday and on TV. The MAC really only has three or four legit, longstanding, rivalry games. They should be embraced and should be used as a showcase for the entire conference - real Div. I look and feel made for TV.
BGSU - Toledo
WMU - CMU
Miami - Ohio

Yep, why bother with season tickets if you don’t live in kzoo. I’m out. Central/Western should always be on the weekend. Don’t care about time or which Saturday, just make it a weekend where the stands are full (or semi full).

This also flies in the face of Kathy's reasoning on why she will not move a "home" WMU/CMU game to Ford Field (which I 100% agree with, BTW) because the city will lose out on the corresponding economic impact. Let's be clear; there is ZERO positive economic impact for the city when this game is played on a Wednesday night. Shame on you, Jon Steinbrecher. One step forward, two steps back….

RE: 2021 Schedule Released
Last time we hosted them it was on a Saturday, man, atmosphere was crazy. Didn't disappoint. Plus CMU came out flat & we were blowing them out. Needs to be like that every time we play them -> here or at Central.

RE: 2021 Schedule Released
Wonder if ESPN is putting pressure on MAC-Steinbrecher to give them better mid-week matchups such as WMU-CMU to increase their ratings-ad revenue.

I don't know about "crazy". I thought it was one of the more disappointing CMU turnouts at Waldo in a while, at least on a Saturday.
This year's schedule seems very unattractive for fans though.

I thought it was great
Yes, the community section wasn't what it should be, but I was very happy w/ the student section.

I'll say
Ws: Illinois St, Kent St, Central Michigan, Akron, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan
Ls: Michigan, Pittsburgh, San Jose St, Ball St, Toledo, Northern Illinois
I could see any of the MAC games being Ws or Ls, but either way I see 5-3 in-conference.
We still have enough talent on this talent to pick up some Ws.

RE: 2021 Schedule Released
Ready for football! April-July & most of August left.
I would think fans allowed, but no more than 25%. Hopefully things are more old normal for the 2022 season.

Eff 25%. If the vaccine is readily available by August, 100% open. Once everyone has access to a vaccine it's no one else's responsibility to keep others "safe".
