Michigan DT Decommits from U-M
Defensive tackle Alex VanSumeren (6-3, 300) of Essexville (Mich.) Garber High School has decommitted from the University of Michigan, he announced on Twitter last night.

Rated a 4-star recruit in the class of 2022, VanSumeren is teammates at Garber with class of 2021 Central Michigan signee, OT Brayden Swartout. The Chippewas offered VanSumeren a scholarship on March 27, 2019, his first FBS offer.

He verbally committed to Michigan in December 2019, where his brother Ben VanSumeren is a junior linebacker for the Wolverines, but reports indicate Ben is likely to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

No question that AVS is the real prize, he'll play on Sundays regardless of where he plays in college.

I would hope he goes to either Clemson or Alabama to be in the national spotlight and compete for national championships.
