College Basketball 2020-21 Season
Good win, Ga. Tech.

Tech fans who want Pastner gone must have seriously mixed feelings.

The thing is, they didnt just beat the Wildcats. They blew them out by 17 points, dropping the Wildcats to 1-3. How do the Wildcats lose to Kansa by 2 points and lose to Richmond by 13 points and now GT by 17? Its a good win because there is a lot of talent on this Kentucky team. They will be much better by the end of the season. This win could be a good resume builder for GT come March.

Cuse will know where they are at against Rutgers. They'll be missing two starters (Boeheim-covid protocals and Sidibe-knee injury).

If they happen to get by Rutgers they should sneak into the Top 25 in a few polls.

Rutgers is going to really attack in the paint since Sidibe is out. This team looks sneaky good. The freshmen seem to be more athletic than the veterans. It may be an exciting year. Havent had one in a few years.

I still want him gone. That Kentucky team is awful. Mercer and Georgia State would likely beat them too. The only thing that could possibly move the needle for me is a NCAAT berth. That from me gets the reward of "one additional year extension for no additional buyout." Beating Kentucky doesn't erase the last four years. Or the previous two games. Or Ron Bell.

Exactly how many wins over the "worst Kentucky team in several decades" do you think it takes to cast over the boat anchors that are Mercer and Georgia State?

LOL. Well GT would also have to get alot better by March, for this win to matter.

Duke cancels remaining non conference games.

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basket...ence-slate

The games canceled? Gardner Webb, Elon, and Charleston Southern. These games were about as relevant as playing Abilene Christian in football. Good call.

I don't know how much it's really worth this year but how many schools can say they beat Kentucky and North Carolina in men's basketball the same season but way to go Georgia Tech!

Pastner discovered that practicing is a good idea. What a freaking concept. He also felt the heat I betcha. He said he'd promise they'd be better after the Mercer debacle. He then instituted two a days. They consequently look like they have a clue now. He needs much more than this to atone though.

RE: College Basketball 2020-21 Season
Duke-Florida State postponed tonight. Coach K would've missed the game had it been tonight so a break for Duke as Coach K will most likely coach when the game is rescheduled. This is one of the games I'm most looking forward to seeing. I kind of see Duke as the big bully of the ACC and root for them to lose, especially on the road. I'm sure there won't be as much in the COVID-19 era but I do love it when the opposing teams storm the court after defeating Duke. You know you're the top dog in the conference when the opposing teams storm the court (or field in football) after they beat you. Being from Philly I'm also a Villanova men's basketball fan and when other Big East teams storm the court after beating us I take it as a complement and when they don't I take it as an insult.

It's also a good thing to have the game on later in the season. Tonight it's an afterthought vs. the Orange Bowl.

RE: College Basketball 2020-21 Season
Tonight Virginia is at Clemson. Virginia leads the ACC standings (tied with Louisville) but Clemson is the highest ranked team in the NET as well as the AP and Coaches polls. This is probably as big a men's basketball game at Clemson that I can remember. Are they a serious contender for the ACC regular season title and/or a deep run in the NCAA Tournament or will this be your typical Clemson basketball team? And will anyone at Clemson even care one way or the other?

ACC basketball on all day today. Starting with VT @ Cuse on Regional Sports Networks at noon, Moving to UNC/NCSU and Duke/Louisville on ESPN at 2pm and 4pm and then Pitt/Wake and GT/VA on at 6pm and 8pm on ACCN. It's almost as good as a full Saturday of college football.... well almost.

Also Clemson at Florida State at 3pm on ABC. I think it's the only ACC game this season on ABC. There should be more games.

#16 VT loses a squeaker @ Cuse 78-60

Hopefully the UNC NCST game is more competitive.

VT's rebounding was atrocious.

Cuse has @UVA next. Will the winning continue?

2 not really compelling games in UNC/NCST and Clemson/FSU. The Duke/Louisville game is pretty good so far though.

Louisville over Duke in a thriller. Duke got 2 good looks at 3 point shots down by 3 in the final 1/2 minute and missed them both.
