No way he should have played as many minutes as he did tonight, regardless of if he was sick or not. As a coach, if you see a guy giving subpar effort and getting blown by on defense multiple times, you sit him. He's doesn't contribute enough on offense to make up for poor defensive effort.

18/51 and 2/19 outside of Harvey...what a phenomenal performance offensively.

That shot of the players and Brannen's faces says it all. Sad state of affairs.

That’s a jarring stat. Glad I didn’t flip this one on.

I have no idea what Brannen is attempting to do with the defense. There isn't any being played.

I respect the way they played that out and extended the game. Long way to go.

The Jeramiah Davenport 3 point shooting project took a big old step back in that one.

Again, we all know this team is no good...they will win a few more games, trick is for everyone not to get to excited...we are in for a long down turn, possibly years....

This team is just not nearly as good as the sum of its parts. Turns the ball over too much, fouls too much, can't shoot, and gives up too many easy baskets. I know this team has enough talent to look better than they do. This season's failures is on the coaching staff. I've been patient in not piling on Brannen, but he's earning a failing grade this season for sure.
This is well put.

Perhaps a coach could do something about that eventually.
Remember when Brannen was hired and he said Keith was the exact type of player for his system?

evidently, WIlliams played much better when we had Scott and both cumberlands on the floor. I don't think keith thought his senior season would be like this.

Now 1-4 in a bad conference and just gave up 82 to a patchwork Wichita roster. Got owned by a freshman that picked Wichita over App St. MAW would be a nice player in the Patriot League.

After last year, fans were saying that it will be nice to move on from Jarron because he didn't really fit with what Brannen wanted to do. I guess Keith is up next.

Go look at uc's 2009 team. . Had good parts but they were young (other than Williams / Vaughn). They made all kinds of mistakes. They were learning. The young core would get them to a sweet 16 a couple years later. Vaughn and Williams were better than our 2 seniors on this team and that team finished 108 in kenpom adjusted defense. People around here aren't used to having this kind of roster. The key is keep the young guys growing and keep them here for the future.

RE: Game Day Thread: Cincy vs. the shuckers
That was horrible. i know Keith thinks his game is driving to the hoop but it's really not. His handle is awful. He needs to be able to move without the ball and he really needs to improve his J. He's a turnover going to the rim. Coach Brannen needs to figure out a way to protect Vogt on defense. He doesn't have the foot speed to keep up on a pick and roll. Set up a zone where he anchors the middle. We need rim protection and when they drag him out to the perimeter he's either a foul or they blow right by him. i'm generally one of the more neutral posters when it comes to this team and the season but that was disgraceful defense. Mason needs to know that when he's in the game, if he has any semblance of an open shot he's got to shoot it. He gave up a trey that led to a beat the shot clock shot. Was that a better effing shot then if Mason would have chucked it up himself? Honestly, i've always felt that this was essentially part 1 of next season, and given how both Keith and Vogt have had trouble staying on the court, it makes even more sense. That said, i still can't get past the defense.
