If tulsa did that they'd probably just put ucf or whoever finished 3rd in the game. The AAC cares way more about the NY6 than tulsa

I’d rather watch a UCF UC rematch.

I root for one thing right now and thats bearcat misery.

A few weeks ago they were talking CFP and now they are terrified of a little old Coastal Conway University jumping them.

I'm rooting for an undefeated season and bearcat euphoria....

...which would also be AAC euphoria.

Nothing new there. Also nothing new with the magical CFP glass ceiling for the non-P5 teams. Thats a reason why adding another well regarded football program that regularly spends time in the Top-25 is very important. If we end up with Boise sliding into that #12 slot, that will further help our conference perception with this sort of ranking thing.

Except for Boise isn't in the top 25 regularly and with extra money still can't manage to win its division every year much less its conference.

They are having huge issues right now and haven't been ranked above 19 in the CFP. Their time has passed. The MWC is falling behind the sunbelt and maybe CUSA.

All Boise adds is a spoiled child and extra travel. Its BYU or sit tight because Army ain't coming.

What's all the hullabaloo about?

8 Cincinnati [8-0]
24 Tulsa [6-1]

Seems right to me.

RE: Cincinnati drops to #8 in the CFP Rankings
I think the way to do this is to have everyone in the AAC rig their nonconference schedule to go like 3-0 or 4-0. Then you can sit on about 4-6 top 25 teams at midseason and just use the conference strength to make the CFP.

Nonconference mistakes don't matter. Playing "up" for a G5 school adds risk but no reward. Time to game the system for 4-5 years.

Buckle your seatbelts because it kind of looks like the AAC might get bumped out of the NY6 bowls by the Sunbelt...either CC or ULala...

Just keep on keepin' on and you're in. They're screwing you for the CFP so you're not going to get double screwed. You're the best team in the G5 and everyone on the planet knows it. Don't get happy feet. 04-cheers

Imo, this year proves we need to create a beat of the rest conference. Gut the mwc and byu and I think that makes a legit conference while destroying the g4. Or is that just wishful thinking?

It's what UCF fans have been saying since 2017 when we were disrespected as well. Cincinnati played it cool and didn't talk a lot like UCF did and got treated the same way. Bring in Boise, BYU & SDSU. We'd be bringing in national football brands that are having the same ceiling issues as us only worse because the MWC is not deep at all. I'd want SDSU as a full member and BYU & Boise as FB only to start.

Based on the article that just came out about Boise talking with conferences for their Olympic sports I'd say it's pretty obvious that they've been having ongoing conversations about leaving the MWC for the AAC.

The thought was that UCF helped legitimize the AAC and coming after them helped us gain some respect. I think it’s true to an extent, but they are still going to do everything they can to protect the P5 teams. That hasn’t changed and I’m not even sure expansion would change that.

Aresco just did an interview in Cincinnati. I thought he was all over it when it came to Cincinnati's team, the level of play in the conference and the absurdity of Iowa State jumping Cincinnati. Really good interview.

Again, I feel like this is a slap for us trying to act like a p5 with our championship, we should have waited for the rankings to come out and then leaked the cancelation and made it official this morning. Tulsa would likely have bumped up a couple spots and Cincy would have stayed in front of ISU. So Aresco can eat this one for at the very least not handling the public perception aspect in a public perception contest.
