If anyone is wondering, the last time Rice beat a ranked opponent was 1997, in Houston over BYU. This was our second year in the WAC, and Ken Hatfield was head coach.
Hatfield had some big wins at Rice. I still remember when ya'll beat Texas in the mid 90's. I think it was 1994. I remember watching it on TV.

None, I think. Marshall still has a tiebreaker over us, so, unless they lose in conference, again, nothing will change and Marshall will win the division.

If Charlotte wins tomorrow and the conference office reschedules the Charlotte-Marshall game for next week as expected, nothing is clinched yet.

No, CUSA will schedule Charlotte in place of FIU and Charlotte will beat this trash team and you will win the division

But in terms of standings TODAY, nothing will change. FAU plays OOC, so, Marshall will remain on top of us, due to tiebreakers.

Other than a undefeated season this changes nothing still expect Marshall to win a championship...
unless this Rice team shows up at home vs UAB. Then I think UTSA has the type of team that can beat Marshall in the championship game.
Do you think UAB shows up in Houston? I don’t. But Rice could salvage a disappointing quadruple-doink MTSU loss, and headscratcher at North Texas with wins over Marshall and UAB. I would also like to see Rice schedule the Bayou Bucket against UH for a fitting season ending game.

Well, that's different. Furthermore, you should have been conditioned to having a game like this every season, lately.

Well, our two OT were out, but no excuses. They had starters out too. We just got curb stomped. No way around it.

Way to go Herd. It’s been 20 years since we’ve been shut out. You reached the record. What a pathetic pile of inept idiots from Doc right on down the line.
Doc gets brazenly out coached again. Surprise.

If the results hold today, and Marshall falls to 4-1 in conference, then yes, Marshall still holds the tie-breaker. But if Marshall loses to FIU next week (unlikely) and FAU beats USM, Marshall would fall to 4-2 while FAU would go to 5-1 and finish 1st in the East.
Another scenario would be that if both Marshall and FAU lose next week, either UAB or UTSA (depending upon what happens with UAB playing Rice next week) would actually host the championship game.

In all honesty, I do not see how Marshall loses to FIU. On the other hand, I did not see them losing to Rice, either...

Congratulations Rice. Shut us out for the first time in stadium history. Our d played relatively well, but our offense flat out sucked.
