Virginia used to have flawless elections and were fully counted in a matter of 90 minutes. Completely deteriorated over the last 10 years.

What else has changed in VA politics over the last decade or two? I wonder.

Status quo is better than full on socialism

Cocaine Mitch going to protect the Supreme Court

I hope they tell Biden to screw off when he nominates his lunatic cabinet.

If Biden winds up winning, Mitch beating Man Hands in KY will be even a bigger deal than previously thought.

Was my first thought when I read that last night.

If you can have a 100k mistake, was it only reported because someone found out or are there redundancies in place to catch it? Where else does this happen?

hence, scotus...

as mentioned, it's 2000 revisited on a larger scale....

Moderate Dems should be thanking the Politics Gods for a Republican Senate. They can't control or publically oppose their Radicals because they are weak (looking at you Nancy) so they have to pretend to agree with them. A Rep Senate gives them an out for this and a scape goat to blame.

So far Republicans +5 in House. I thought they would pick up about 10. Saw a comment that they were "poised" to pick up more than 10.

Only Dem pickups are 2 redrawn NC districts. Republicans have picked up 2 in FL, 1 in IA, 1 in OK, 1 in NM, 1 in SC, 1 in MN.

At this point Senate seems safe. RCP still has it 47-45-2. Uncalled:
Alaska 50% Sullivan R 63.1 Gross D 31.8
Georgia 100% Perdue R 50.8 Carpetbagger Osoff 46.9
North Carolina 100% Tillis R 48.7 Cunningham D 46.9
Maine 92% Collins R 50.9 Gideon D 42.5
Michigan 90% James R 49.2 Peters D 49.0

Georgia Special is a runoff Warnoff D 31.9 Loeffler R 26.5 Collins R 20.4.

If my math is correct, excluding the 2 GA seats, if these races hold up the Senate stays in republican control. Would cockblock a lot of the crazy legislation, court packing, adding 2 states, draconian gun control, etc.

The more background I did on James, the more I think he's the future of the GOP. He's more sensible on a lot of reform legislation than most GOPers are now (especially towards URMs), understands a reserved and measured approach rather than going out with bravado, and he has the appeal to URM voters while still adhering to evangelical doctrine on Abortion. Kind of checks a lot of boxes...only issue is potentially losing the southern vote in some states, especially with his messaging on Jim Crow and the South from his family's background.

It sounds like it was a manual entry with no controls. One person keying in something. Unacceptable in this day and age. And unacceptably incompetent to enter that big an error without noticing.

You guys are way more optimistic than me. In 4 - 8 years this country will be unrecognizable. Better have a back up plan.
