I like that Penny is recruiting to his system and not just to rankings. That's how Houston/Villanova has sustained success. Plus they redshirt more often than any other programs.
Houston?
They won 4 games in tourney since 1984...
With all of your posts, I know before I do the research, that what you are saying is going to be complete nonsense.
KELVIN SAMPSON BEFORE HOUSTON
- 12 years at Oklahoma, 11 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four, 1 Elite 8, 1 Sweet 16, 11 NCAA wins
- 2 seasons at Indiana, 2 NCAA appearances, 1 NCAA win (Dakich finished the second season)
HOUSTON BEFORE SAMPSON
- In the 21 years before Kelvin Sampson, 1 NCAA appearance, 0 NCAA wins, 3 NIT appearances
HOUSTON WITH SAMPSON
- 6 seasons
- 2 NIT
- 2 NCAA appearances
- 1 Sweet 16
- 3 NCAA wins
- Finished 2019-2020 ranked #22 so it would have been 3 seasons out of 6
All of the pundits have them ranked in the top 25 going into this season as well. So yes, anyone who has even a tiny bit of common sense and does a tiny bit of research can come to the logical conclusion, that Sampson has a blueprint that has worked for 27 years, including taking Houston to heights they haven't realized since the early 90's.
