Big 10 reverses decision
Spring footballers options are dwindling....in 2000 the year before FAU played their first season we practiced every week and scrimmaged ourselves in game conditions. So that is an option for Spring Footballers.

Hypocrites.

They thought the public perception would be on their side. They were wrong, and they look really stupid from this reversal.

Even if they play they will be forever remembered as quitters.

RE: Big 10 reverses decision
The Big 10 thought they were the "leaders" of the college football world, and that their decisions would somehow trickle down to all conferences....

And then all of a sudden, we're at the point of the 2020 season where the SEC is about to start playing, and all of the Big 10 schools were removed from the polls...

And now the Big 10 is trying to save face.

All this garbage coming from the Big 10 about having better "testing protocols" than they did just over a month ago is a front, because it looks worse to just say "we were wrong, we don't want to catch more heat and lawsuits over this, and we don't want to be left out after seeing the first two weeks of college football be successful".

I don't think spring football was ever really gonna happen. There might be a few exhibition type games between teams that don't play in the fall.

I don't think you know anything about why we made that decision besides stating its for safety reasons. You can call ODU what ever it is you want to call but we did what's best for us with the information handy when the call was made. I am not sure why it rails someone in Florida, esp those two FAU fans that much more than us ODU'ers. Did we hurt your feelings or something?

Who made that decision for ODU?
The players?
Ultimately the players have to determine the risks of playing sports and decide what is best for them and their families. From peewee to high school to club sports to aau.
That decision has always rested with the players and their families.
Did it in the ODU case?

Yes we have heard something along the lines of players expressing the concern. We don't how many shared that concern and to what extent but that was mentioned by the AD when the article came out.

OK, then LT is quitters too and FIU, Rice and every other school that didn't play their games as originally scheduled. Did FAU make an effort to replace lost games?

Not apparently. The AD claimed they have to work with the restrictions the Governor has put in place for the region and i have heard from some ODU folks saying there are others(like soccer camps etc) in the region who are still doing it despite the restrictions. If we were to assume its more than likely due to budget constraints that come into play if we had to have a season abiding those restriction on a G5 budget. UVA/VT has money and were not under those restrictions so its really not apples to apples comparison.

We have and we are still trying to fill the schedule, but its difficult. Lot of teams quit early.

Well we all know its politics genius but we don't have a clout or money to get around it. Let me break the news for you. Whether its dumbrats or pubelickens shtick didn't change they both hate us for reasons unknown. One guy decided to specifically target ODU with is Bill while also impacting JMU pukes his almamater with that. This governor seems to have targeted the entire region. I don't know the stats to tender to that statement. It is what it is and we will more than likely play a couple of exhibition games and call it a spring. Sad but true.

So once Big 10 games start up, CUSA games on ESPN/ESPN2 and such will be gone or does the Big 10 have a contract with a different network? Regardless, enjoy it while we can.
