Across the Pond: Boris Johnson standing up to EU attempt to blockade Northern Ireland
EU was trying to put the UK in a situation where they could not send food to Northern Ireland

Johnson proposed a law giving him power to change the Withdrawal agreement should a final trade deal not be reached in order to protect the UK

Naturally the global leaders, bureaucrats, and media are mad Johnson for being blunt about changing an agreement and not blindfully starving the people of Northern Ireland

The EU doesn't seem to understand the concept of national sovereignty. They legit seem to think they have the legal authority to cut off Northern Ireland from UK. Luckily, the UK is teaching them that nations are sovereign.

Good for Johnson.

But it has to be said, he is taking a huge political risk. If the UK does not consent to a “hard border” between Ulster and the rest of the UK, then the EU will establish a “hard border” between Ulster and the ROI. At which point both sides will of course blame the other for the impasse. It is impossible to predict how ordinary people (in Ulster, and elsewhere) would react to that, but we know which side the media will try to blame for it. And if the IRA (in that circumstance) resumes its murder/bombing campaigns of the past, what then? Will the British people really want to hang on to Ulster at that cost?

Sounds like Ireland and France are running the EU's negotiations. Ireland wants Northern Ireland and the Frogs like to stick it to the Brits every chance they get.

They're British.

Argentina probably could have had the Falklands if they hadn't invaded.

The British will not let themselves be bullied on Northern Ireland.

For the British people *of 1982* (the year of the Falklands War) — or, of course, any earlier time — that is undoubtedly true.

And maybe it still is true for the British people of 2020. I hope it is. But I admit, I have my doubts.

We’ll soon find out.

Well one issue is he couldn't even explain the bill in parliament when pressed. I mean he couldn't even explain a single line of the bill.

Globalists don't like reason. Hence the bias against teaching logic. BoJo just doing what any leader should, taking care of his people first.

Yes he was pressed in parliament today and didn't even attempt to answer when pressed.

Also Northern Ireland is part of the UK, so im unsure what footing the EU would have. Guess I'd have to research.

What standing they have is that they've basically sought to eliminate national sovereignty.

I get that but the UK left it so as far as I'm concerned the EU has no control over England, Scotland, Wales and NI.

Bonn was essentially trying to accomplish through trade what 2 world wars failed to yield, Ein Reich! Controlled by one government with monetary and banking authority in Deutschland.

But NI wants to maintain open and normal non hard border relations with the Republic of Ireland. The EU is making that very difficult because they can

Makes sense and if the EU makes it hard then the ultras from the 80s rise again.

Yes, it does. But history has a way of suggesting one thing for a period of time, and then suggesting the opposite later on.

If Ulster could end up with a soft border with Ireland and soft border with Great Britain, just think how much money they could make.
