Really good scheduling also. Iowa State, K State and Kansas are 3 beatable schools by any G5 conference especially in this environment

Iowa St and Kansas St are bowl P5 teams, let’s not attempt to downplay those wins. I know the 6-6 P5 bar was a banner win last year by some on this board.

Not sure how tongue in cheek that was, but I think we’re going to see a lot more surprise upsets this season as coaches try to manage constantly shifting schedules and even players that have to sit out for 10 days

K State and Iowa St are solid wins. They are good wins for the SBC but let’s not act like it is more than what it is. Iowa St had no business being in the top 25. That Troy win over LSU a few years ago is way more impressive. I would probably say the GAST win over TN last year was better. All in all it was a good showing from the SBC.

I'd credit scheduling, but neither the Iowa State or Kansas State games were originally on the schedule. AState was supposed to play at Michigan, and I'm not sure who the Cajuns had.
Those games were scheduled because the AD's at the 4 schools were pretty good friends from what I understand...

LA Tech missed the big day. Could have walked away with the best win of all over Baylor.

LOL. Coulda woulda shoulda counts for squat big fella. You first have to be able to get a team on the field to win or lose.

I think this weekend's results proves that a lack of fans in the stands has a leveling affect on these games. Game referees seem less inclined to get involved in "home cooking" calls, and the Home Field advantage seemed to be negated.

Not trying to take anything away from the Sunbelt schools who won yesterday, but I think the lack of a "home field advantage" (due to no home crowds, etc...) is obviously making a significant difference. Remember, G5 schools almost always have to play P5 schools on the road, in hostile environments, in front of intimidated referees. That's not the case right now.
If anything, this experiment is proving that many G5's can compete with most P5's head to head, if home field advantage is removed from the equation.

Well no you don’t, when you said ‘Could have walked away with the best win of all over Baylor.’ That’s a wild, totally unrealistic spin as to what actually happened. But hey I get it that you have to try anything to ease the pain. Have a nice day!

RE: Not CUSA related: The Sun Belt did the damn thang today!
Based on the results of the first two weeks, I have to admit, SunBelt seems to be a better conference this season. Granted, some of our teams haven't even played yet, but results are results.

Miami is infinitely more athletic than Iowa State and Kansas State. More talent, size and speed at Miami than Iowa State and K State combined.
Miami is 9th in recruiting rankings
K State 44th
Iowa State 57th
