I don't have an opinion either way as to whether they play except that the PR since the announcement has been a disaster but if you're on the losing end of an 11-3 vote I don't know if I'd characterize that as a dictatorship.
Dictatorship is a bit strong of a description.
It has been a disaster from the beginning, like you said. I wish the original "conference only schedule" would have stuck, but unfortunately, there were a handful of schools (4) kicking and screaming from the beginning about not playing. That's about the time governor's started involving themselves in the discussion and politics took over. This is my opinion.

Like I said, no dog in the fight. My school made their decision independent of our conference and I think I feel better about that than I would have if the conference made the decision for us. Probably should be for schools like the players, you can opt out no penalty but don't make the decision for others.

While I absolutely accept the political assessment of yes/no to Fall football. OSU is in a different boat. They would vote for a regular football season if the world is in the middle of a nuclear war, if Earthquakes were destroying the US, etc. They pay their players so much money, they expect to earn a return on their salaries. They were voting for football per usual regardless of anything else.

Have to wonder if this will cause some realignment as the schools in these conferences found out the cultural differences are significant.

Ohio State is trapped.
The other two may have an opportunity to escape.
Penn State and Ohio State would fit perfect in the ACC footprint.

We might have to pull some strings, but if OSU and PSU want to jump to the ACC, I think we can make it happen.
