Yeah, I seriously think Trump’s votes all came in 2016 and he will match. A lot of people are waiting on “the silent majority” to come through, but they’re just a figment of everyone’s imagination until they do. Right now, they seem like a lot because of the availability heuristic, but I don’t think that they are very many in number this time.

The “silent majority”... that lost the popular vote by 3 million.
Yes, that's another hurdle Democrats must overcome in order to win. They won the popular vote by 3% & still lost the election last time.

Have you lost what tiny bit of mind your pea brain possesses. I know many people that didnt vote because they were told Hillary would win. Trump has increased his following bigly. Hell driving down the road today in a very blue city there was a guy standing in the median waving a full sized Trump flag.
Another awful post Menstrual. You make it an art.
A good number of people (for no reason I can comprehend) really did like Hillary. Now not as many people despise Biden as despised Hillary. But nobody respects him.
I think Biden could get a lot more votes than Hillary. He's a lot more likable and less controversial. Voters view him as far less corrupt than Hillary (the Hunter Biden stuff hasn't stuck as well as Whitewater, Lewinskygate, the e-mail server, etc). But to follow through, Biden's got to prove he's not pre-Alzheimers.
Unfortunately for Trump, Trump has set the bar pretty low for Biden's mental state. If Trump doesn't humiliate Biden in the debate, it'll be seen as a Biden victory.

I was about 2 years into the CUSA board before reading it. Its easily the best thread I've read on a sports message board. Its actually like a good book, hate to put it down before getting to the end. I read all 29 pages (over 1100 post)in one night and forgot about how sick I was (getting over the flu).

In 2016, Trump lost IL by 17 points, NY by 22%, and CA by 27%. Also 4% of Illinois voters voted Libertarian or McMillan in 2016, (compared to 2.42% in NY and 3.6% in CA). That was in a year when Illinois voters were ticked off at their Republican governor for going 2 years without a budget.
Since then, CA and NY have shut into a bubble and gotten more extreme. Illinoisans have watched while all the neighboring states with Republican governors have handled coronavirus better with lower restrictions.
Current polls say Biden has a 30 point lead in CA and a 24% lead in NY. There has not been a single poll yet in Illinois. But come November, if we're discussing Trump maybe winning Illinois then the election is already decided.
Yeah Trump's not going to win these 2 states. Getting it under 15% would be an accomplishment in itself
Yeah I think bearcat is more onto the reality of this. (I still hate Nick Van Excel for beating Penny's tigers 4 times in one year, God forgive me lol)
He may not pull out Cali and NY, but he will likely flip other blue states like in 2016 and have a much larger electorial win if these rumblings and trends are true.
A 350-400 EC tally may wake up the few reasonable dems out there about how insane their party has become. The hardliners will go even harder left and Marxist though.
It would be best for America if Trump could permanently damage the dem party by dividing the Marxists socialists from few remaining sensible democrats. A 3 party divide may me much better for us to slow the eventual implosion and fall of the nation to the demonic Godless left.
The 3 party idea is kinda a Lucy and the football thing that never seems to come to fruition though.

The answer to the question, absolutely not, but I wish he could. I wish enough people on the left in those 2 states would just vote Green that would give Trump a chance to win them.

The only thing good about Hussein Obama was the fact that got Trump elected. Other than that, he was the worst and most incompetent President of a generation.

Very true but a factor many don't consider when looking at the 3 million gap is that the two largest BLUE states, California and New York, both finished in the bottom 10 states in voter participation in 2016. Obviously, there's a slight chance that if their participation rate was on par with other states, such as Florida, that 3 million gap would be larger but I'd bet the farm that the opposite would happen. Trump supporters in Cali and NY didn't show up but Hillary supporters did because Trump's chances in those states was almost zero.
If you want to talk about voter suppression, how about California's open primaries? It means you get two Democrats running for every statewide office.

I don't think Trump could win NY or CA, but he absolutely can win the one of the last elements of the "Blue Wall" - good 'ol Minnesota. Lots of support for Trump in the areas outside of the Twin Cities, even in the Iron Range.

This is such a stupid line. I can't believe you guys are still peddling it.
We don't cast a popular vote. Never have. To deny that this impacts behavior is SPECIFICALLY why Hillary lost.
I hope you win it again this time... Go and spend all your time and energy collecting all that money and votes in NY and Cali so that you once again win the 'popular vote'... Just like last time, CV Republicans will be in the bars celebrating while you're out drumming up more votes.

Hillary won NY and Cal by a total of 6 million votes. Trump won the other 48 by 3 million votes. That Hill + 3m nonsense is solely because of the mindless sardines packed in those 2 shytholes.
