interesting that is that its a home game for navy ..but on espn

cbssports controls navy's home games

there was clear intervention in scheduling this by espn...

Fantastic! I was not expecting this. Navy was at the top of my list - great institution and head coach is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I didn't think it was even possible. Should be a great Monday night game!

Any chance they will allow visiting fans in the stands?!?

When the deal between AAC and CBSSN was made, a year before the AAC primary media rights deal, there was a provision for one Navy NMCMS home game (but not Air Force) to be held out as part of the primary rights deal. That's in addition to the even-yeared Notre at Navy games that are part of the AAC primary rights deal.

Expectation was that would be the sexiest Navy home game in-conference. Good job by ESPN to jump on this one.

That's a huge get for BYU. They'll also get a little taste of what the AAC west is like with Houston & Navy on their schedule.

I say add UCF, Memphis and SMU and really get a filling of the AAC schedule.

What a game that should be. Two great institutions coming together on the gridiron.

I'd be surprised if UCF & BYU don't have something tentatively drawn up and just waiting for confirmation from UNC that they're buying out that game.

UCF is at the top of the opponents I'd like to see on the schedule this year. Without P5s, teams should just pursue the best opponents they can at this point. I'd also love to see Memphis, Cincinnati & SMU added. If location is an issue for anyone, there's a brand new empty stadium (with air conditioning) in Vegas that would be fun to break in.

Sounds like you and your fans would really enjoy AAC membership. If only there was an opening available...

Please roll out the red carpet for our admins who attend any AAC games. They need to be persuaded of the virtues of AAC membership.

I'd honestly be fine with it if Boise, SDSU and UNLV were on board. Joining without a few western teams might be a little rough though.

I would love for BYU to be in the AAC but I go to Utah every winter from Florida and it isn't exactly next door. It's a long ways away. I understand it's not that big of a deal for football, but all of the Olympic sports traveling from the bottom of the East Coast to Utah would be troublesome. And for anyone saying add BYU as a football only, our commissioner already said that's not happening

^ If BYU were to join I'm sure the conference would be open to 2 western add's, with ESPN's support of course. Our membership would probably want to wait a year or 2 to see how BYU settles in before jumping on 2 more adds, we all remember 2012 when Boise & SDSU were in for about a week.

Amen! We already have a rivalry with you. After one game, lol. And...we have an open date caused by Purdue cancelling on us.
