Looks like every other ACC team did as I said when it was clear the SEC games were off and filled with FCS.

Of course GT-UCF still being on the schedule means one thing: the odds of no football in the fall just shot up astronomically. Either that or expect a hurricane in Florida mid-September.

Nah, that would affect everyone. I'm looking for a tornado to hit downtown Atlanta the day before/day of the game.

Hope we get this all in, because it looks like a whole bunch of fun!!

In a normal year that Friday night home game would be reason to party. This year it’s just one day less I have to wait to watch a game. I like having the road games on Friday. That frees up a couple of Saturdays to watch LouCity play.

If someone would have told me a decade ago that Louisville would have a schedule of
Pitt, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Florida State and Virginia Tech consecutively
I would have told them they were crazy.

That’s a who’s who of college football.

Not bad for a program that 22 years ago was playing football in a baseball stadium.

It’s a great day to be a Louisville Cardinal!

Kentucky is a poor state. It is extremely important that Louisville does everything it can to support the smaller schools in the state. Even more so in these tough times.

Western Kentucky will collect a check for 600K for the game. That money will help sustain the WKU athletics program. My understanding is Louisville is going to honor the game contract and pay Murray State 600K for the OOC game that got cancelled.

Sometimes the game is about more than the score.

ABSOLUTELY! In recent years, Louisville has had some bad breaks with regards to coaches putting the University in a bad light, but one thing that UL has demonstrated is that the university is a great conference partner who always tries to honor their commitments. Honoring the deal with Murray St during these difficult times is just another example of this. I still believe that the only reason WV got into the B12 ahead of UL is that WV was willing to do things that UL just was not willing to do, including the unethical way that WV left the BE. If Im not mistaken, it was Louisville who put the BE on notice that they were leaving the league even though they had nowhere to go at the time and was willing to go independent for a while, in case another opportunity opened up, so they would not have to be beholden to a conference. Is that correct? I know it never came to that since Maryland left the ACC in the lurch. Maybe a UL fan can confirm this.

Did the ACC screw Clemson and UNC? By giving them the day that they have to play their OOC game thus limiting them to teams that can play an away game that day. Most likely FCS.

I wonder how close Clemson and UNC are to signing their OOC game.

You are correct.

Tom Jurich told Big East leadership and they asked him not to make it public.

The rumor I saw on a TigerIllustrated thread yesterday was that we are sticking with The Citadel. However, the fact that it wasn't officially announced with the rest of the schedule makes me wonder if that was a reliable rumor. We shall see.

What’s the pulse of Irish fans about the schedule change?

Grateful for the ACC assist.

Sad about losing the Wisconsin, Southern Cal, Stanford and Navy games.

Think the conference schedule may be easier than the original schedule.

(If true, that may confound those who claimed ND's indy schedule was too easy and it should join a conference to play a "real schedule")

The schedule sets up very well, especially since ND's most talented receiver (talent, not production) Kevin Austin, just fractured his foot.

The September games are not as tough as the later ones. That will allow the team to mesh and Austin to heal.

All in all, a pretty interesting year (if we play at all).

Here is ND's schedule, if you haven't seen it:

Sept. 12 vs. Duke (Notre Dame, Ind.)

Sept. 19 vs. Western Michigan (Notre Dame, Ind.)

Sept. 26 at Wake Forest (Charlotte, NC)

Oct. 10 vs. Florida State (Notre Dame, Ind.)

Oct. 17 vs. Louisville (Notre Dame, Ind.)

Oct. 24 at Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

Oct. 31 at Georgia Tech (Atlanta, Ga.)

Nov. 7 vs. Clemson (Notre Dame, Ind.)

Nov. 14 at Boston College (Chestnut Hill, Mass.)

Nov. 27 (Friday) at North Carolina (Chapel Hill, NC)

Dec. 5 vs. Syracuse (Notre Dame, Ind.)

I imagine we are waiting to see what the SoCon does as far as The Citadel playing.

But the problem is they have Charleston Southern scheduled for Sept 19th (our TBA date). We may be looking for an opponent. If we do not keep The Citadel I hope we sign Coastal so it will at least be a FBS game. They are off that day, have already lost a game with South Carolina this year and are likely to lose more games since their remaining OOC is @ Eastern Michigan, Kansas at home and Duquesne.

I am sure that Carolina or Clemson is free to fill in an open date but there is no need.

If you can't have another P-5 what is the point? Looking after in-state SoCon and other FCS is part of the job in NC, SC, and Va.

I am also certain that if the SC Legislature mandates Clemson and SC play that the ACC will squeeze the game into the schedule.

The optimist would compare it to adjusting the mission of Apollo 13 from a moon landing to a rescue operation -- that was touch and go the whole time, but was ultimately successful and one of the greatest triumphs of our space program.

Both the Citadel and Charleston Southern have 9/26 open, so that game could easily be moved. However, Charleston Southern has also lost games and needs a few opponents. App.St., Charlotte and ECU all have an open date on 9/19. My guess is that Charleston Southern is looking to add a game before they will agree to move their game with the Citadel.
