So in addition to being eclipsed by OSU, UK, and Indiana in the home market, Louisville, Purdue, and ND overlap as well.
I have lived in Cincinnati for over a decade now as a Louisville fan. The only school that possibly "eclipses" UC in Cincinnati is OSU, but I think even that is questionable if that's the word you want to use. Granted there are a lot of Buckeye fans, but I'm not sure they have more. I'd say UC has a plurality, with smaller but still substantial portions of the pie for OSU and UK to a lesser degree.
I'd say UK eclipses UC on the northern KY side of the river, and that's certainly part of the counting stats for metro TV numbers, but the population on the NKY side doesn't come close to the Ohio side. There is a steep steep decline when it comes to Cayut fans north of the river.
IU football? Does that even exist in the Cincy metro? No one here cares about IU football.
If ND joins in football, I'd expect the ACC to hold at 15 with no divisions.

A 3-5-5 works well
But it has to be approved. I can't imagine the B1G and SEC would have the ballz to scuttle total conference flexibility now.
BL: Cincy or UCF would have to bring something to the table to earn TV revenue close to $25M a year. Until ND comes in it just makes good Internet chatter

Here's my big problem with UCF...
Name one P5 with a directional word (i.e. names of states don't count - North Carolina, West Virginia are ok) in the name. Directional schools scream mid major. Maybe if they changed their name to Disney State University?

UCF used to be Florida Tech, that would not have been bad. I don't think excluding schools based on directional names alone is a good strategy.

The same argument could be made for schools with city names and it would be equally as lazy.

UCF hands out more non-STEM degrees than STEM. The Florida Institute of Technology exists and up until COVID they had their own football team too.

The problem is that Cincy is eclipsed in it's home market by Ohio State, Kentucky, and Indiana. A good analogy is the City of Charlotte. Charlotte is in NC, but it's DMA run from NW NC to the near the Big Peach in Gaffney. A school located in Charlotte is immediately eclipsed in it's home market by UNC and Clemson. Then it would have to battle SC, NC State, Duke, and WF in that market.
So in addition to being eclipsed by OSU, UK, and Indiana in the home market, Louisville, Purdue, and ND overlap as well. If Cincy were in fact located in Dayton or Cleveland, they would be in the ACC now.
The money to support a structure of the league is now the limiting factor. The ACC at 15, 16, or 18 makes certain schools rise and fall as likely members. A number of schools could be the ACC's 18th - provided Disney pays for that. Only one or two could be the 15th.
Think of it like electron shell configuration in an atom. The atom is stable with a certain number of electrons, outside those magic numbers lies instability.
ALL NOT TRUE.
The only hint of fact in any of that is that there are a lot of UK idiots over in northern KY.
UL has no presence here. Purdue doesn't even go south of Indianapolis.
ND has the same following that they would in any catholic founded city in the USA.
Dayton is 25 miles up the highway. I don't even know what you're saying with that.
And if you want O$U territory, go to Cleveland. The only people that like O$U in Cincy are the people that went there.
