Seeds from China
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky is the fourth state to receive suspicious packages of seeds from China, according to Commission of Agriculture Ryan Quarles.

Quarles said if you receive a package of seeds that you did not order, do not plant them because they could contain "invasive species." He recommends placing the package of seeds into a baggie and washing your hands immediately.

Imagine being so dumb, that you receive a package of seeds from China that you did not order and your first instinct is to go plant them.

Id bet 50% of rural Americans could not help themselves to find out what sprouts..even if told it was an invasive species.

The issue is, when requested to put it in a plastic baggie, the government suspects that you might be dealing with a contagion, or a nerve agent. It's why you don't open anything you didn't order. Ted Kaczynski would love you.

The biggest mystery to me is how in the hell can China get this product past the USPS when it takes weeks for my azaleas to arrive, months for my daughter to get a care package of vegetables in Alaska, and it took me almost 6 months to get my tax return?

Seriously though there is a pneumonic virus on the loose in China now and the death rate is quite high.

Look they are already responsible for this damn virus (which I had a 3rd inside source tell me today was manmade) so why in the hell are we receiving any biological materials from them that aren't opened and inspected???

I've heard this kind of thing is actually a racket. By filling (shipping) nearly worthless items, companies can inflate their "orders" and make their books look better/have documentation for otherwise fraudulent accounting. As in "see, here are the shipping receipts for those orders".

Just a new kind of fraud thing.

Well they promised retaliation last week for our stance on Hong Kong and various other issues.

It's time we grew a collective brain when it comes to incoming freight and packages. There are some COVID 19 jobs the government could offer. Just put the BLM and ANTIFA folks in charge of scratch and sniff.

If people were aware of the ridiculously low percentage of foreign cargo that is actually inspected at ports of entry they would freak.

I have a customer who basically builds stuff out of storage containers. Sounds mundane, but he has several U.S. And international patents on his designs. His latest is a mobile, stackable unit that is used at shipyards that detects various "bad things", but mainly radioactive material in shipping containers coming in. It's not unlike airport screening but for containers. He recently signed a government contract to supply them to ports on the east and west coast.

The only people I can think of this dumb are prog filth with back porch urban herb gardens and stupid Karens.

Sending seeds in the middle of summer is stupid. Almost as stupid as when the prog filth wanted to plant trees at the wrong time of year to save earth.

But yeah. Some people are absolutely this dumb.

RE: Seeds from China
A few months ago people were getting packets of rubber bands and those cheap hair ties. Yes this is most likely some type of racket and not a 'China is out to destroy us with seeds'

If that were the case everyone of us has something from China in our hands at some point during the week. Be a lot easier adding something to we buy and they make. Than sending random packs of seeds

Agreed. Containers are efficient, but the sheer amount that enter into the country is staggering. All customs can do is spot check.

My guess is this an Amazon scam to get fake reviews.

Thats what it appears to be. The seeds are all types, and I've seen some pumpkin/squash seeds and sunflower seeds in the mix. Looks like they are using a bunch of extremely inexpensive (and probably useless) seeds to try to scam up a bunch of fake positive reviews.
