CBs have been rolling in for Memphis. I would bet he commits to Memphis tomorrow, but it will be getting him to stay on until Signing Day will be the hard part.
He's a 3* composite 247 .88, but is a 4* according to 247 ranking's service.

Explains lots of things. First, that App State and Wisconsin are probably the most overachieving teams over the last 4 years. That Niumatalolo has probably done the best coaching job relative to the talent he's brought in of anybody in the AAC. That ECU, Tulane and SMU have underachieved relative to what they should have done. That 7/11 of the league are significantly above the midline. And that the team that decided to leave really is on an island relative to the rest of the league.

Wow. So the quick and dirty:
Bottom Left: You have garbage recruits and, as expected, played like garbage.
Top Left: You way over-achieved with your garbage recruits. Not expected to keep it up.
Bottom Right: (this is us) You have good recruits and have no excuse being so garbage. Expected to turn things around.
Top Right: Duh, you’re only really good because you get the best recruits...a**hole.

Things could be worse I guess. UConn=UMass.

Right. I was just thinking of it a step further, as a predictive guide. Outliers exist in the top left and bottom right. For teams like UAB or Colorado State, a coaching change for better or worse could completely flip things for them.
It would be interesting to see this graph in motion, or even interactive. See how improving a recruiting class improves results, or how bad results can weaken recruiting classes over time.

With way too much time on my hands, here are some recruiting updates. Kids rated 0.8498 or above by 247 so far:
UC - 8
SMU - 7
MEM - 6
UCF - 2
USF - 2
All the rest have 1 or none at this point. What these ratings mean, except for bragging rights, is a mystery to me. I tend to trust the Coaches to take the best ones they think fit needs, culture, academics, etc. AAC out recruiting all G4 conferences in a big way, FWIW.
Another commit we got today, should be official tomorrow
Yep, 6’7 235 TE from NC with offers from Michigan State, Maryland, Iowa State, Kentucky, Arizona State, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kansas, NC State, UCLA, among others.

It's definitely none of my business, and I'm not the biggest fan of recruiting (because I think the rankings are BS and driven by what sells subscriptions more than anything else), but it's really strange to me that you guys seem to be focusing on recruiting non-Florida kids. Given that one of the biggest strengths ascribed to both of our programs is that we are sitting in such a recruiting hotbed, and given that using precious scholarships on out of state kids might alienate high school coaches (which can impact future recruiting), this seems like a bizarre strategy. Then again, I'm not getting paid millions (or, frankly, a penny) to run a college football program...

I think the quarantine is a big factor in us ignoring Florida currently. Once practice and the actual season starts it would be hard to travel across the US to talk with recruits. Once the football season starts, we will then likely spend all of our time on Florida. Signing day is still a long ways away. The recruits will then be able to (hopefully) attend games and we will be able to flip a good portion of them. We’ll see how good of a strategy that is pretty soon, but it makes sense on paper
