I don't want to sound like I'm singling out any one school but to me the only school in this conference that I can't see building itself into a real contender is ULM and they may very well fool me.
In the east
App St is going to continue to demand competitive football
Georgia St is building a solid program
Coastal is not there yet but I see no reason they can't become a football power
Troy isn't going anywhere and has the tradition and facilities to make it happen
Georgia Southern is just like App and will not tolerate poor football
In the west
USA is in a position to really take off with the right coaching staff
Louisiana is the big dog now and yes if they loose Napier who knows but I know they have all the ingredients for sustained success
ULM as I mentioned above has always done more with a LOT less so maybe they can keep that up
stAte has been a real monster up in Jonesboro and while they are not the cream of the conference today in five years they may be right back on top
Texas St is maybe in the best college town I've ever seen. The facilities are top notch at the G5 level so all they really need is the right coach and they will take off I have no doubt
What I see in the Sun Belt is a juggernaut being built. Yes we have programs that currently are not that good but we also have no reason not to expect most of those to improve. This league if we can keep it together five years from now may very well have passed the MW and be a real threat to be the best G5 league.
