MAC/member program cuts/changes thread
Note: Sad as it is, thought I'd make one thread for all this so we can keep track in one place. Add what you get for all to peruse.

Just announced: BGSU cutting baseball.
https://bgsufalcons.com/news/2020/5/15/g...uring.aspx

Here's that earlier Akron info:
https://www.news5cleveland.com/sports/co...ng-measure

And here's the earlier MAC tournament, etc., change report:
https://www.misportsnow.com/2020/05/mid-...p-formats/

NCAA requires 16 sports for FBS/Division I. NIU has 17, 8 men's and 9 women's. Uh-oh.

The next logical step will be games like you see in South Dakota HS football where schools have to combine forces to play

Toledo and BG combined teams vs WMU and CMU combined teams

Schools co-op teams because they are small schools that maybe have a hundred-ish kids in the entire school. That's means they have about 15 to 30 senior boys total.

Comparing co-op high schools and universities is apples and oranges. Enrollment isn't an issue. Yeah, its down, but universities aren't limited to the kids that live in the community. Not sure if you noticed, but colleges recruit from, not only the entire country, but also sometimes internationally.

Eh....I don't know why I waste my time with this. Thinking that NIU is going to co-op their football program with...oh, I don't know...WIU is the dumbest thing. The NIU-WIU LeatherDawgs! GMAFB....

I would have savored every bit of last season had I known it was most likely last time we were able to see Huskie football as we know it.
