Hello There, Guest! (LoginRegister)

Poll: Which scenario is most likely beyond 2026? NOTE: You may vote for more than one alternative.
UConn FB & BB will be replaced; that's all.
One more school (e.g., Memphis or Cincy) will have to be replaced
Two more schools (e.g., UCF and Houston) will have to be replaced.
Big-12 and AAC will implode & have to merge.
AAC will implode and teams will go to Big-12 or G4 conferences.
No change: Still 11 FB & BB schools.
Something completely unexpected will happen.

Which schools will be in the AAC after the P5s sign their new TV deals?
There are a number of realignment scenarios that might unfold between now and 2026, due to the fact that the P5 conferences are all going to be signing new broadcasting deals between 2021 and 2025.

RE: How likely is it that the AAC will continue with its current membership beyond 2026?
If you check the box for "something completely unexpected will happen," please give an example.

If you predict that the AAC and/or Big-12 will implode, please list the teams that will remain, and where they will end up.

For example: "The AAC will implode, after losing Memphis, Cincy, UCF, and Houston to P5 conference(s), but the remaining teams will reload with the top 4 available FB and BB programs from the G4 or independents, using a hybrid model or "Chinese menu" type of method (e.g., will add UMass and UConn FB, VCU and Dayton BB, & Buffalo and UAB for all sports)."

Houston is not going to the big 12 unless another Texas team leaves for the same reason UCF will not go to the SEC.
Cincy and UCF will prob move to the Big12.

the big12 implosion has to deal with Texas leaving or staying.

i don't know what, but, if one thing has kinda been consistent with the last few years of the merry go round, its that the unexpected (rutgers, (s)pittsburgh) has happened as much, if not moreso, than the "obvious"

Wow - 8 (66.7%) of the first 12 votes (predictions) are that the AAC will lose one or two more teams and/or implode by 2026!

I have no idea what's going to happen, but if there's movement from the AAC to the P5, it's hard to see UCF and Cincinnati getting passed up this time around. Memphis and Houston will be in the mix as well.

Full disclosure, if most UC fans had it their way, we would be in the ACC. It's the P5 that makes the most sense for us by far given geography, old rivals, and the competition level. That said, the Big 12 is more likely IMO. Only way UC is getting in the ACC is if Notre Dame decides to join as a full member, and I just don't see that happening as long as they have a path to the CFP and NY6 bowl games as an independent.

16 votes so far, and all 7 choices have at least one vote. That should tell you all you need to know.

1-2 of Cincy, Memphis, UCF are the likely schools to move if there were to be a move (which is more unlikely than likely) by the P5. UH is blocked by UT in the B12 (even if they say otherwise) but none of those moves is likely IMO. More likely the AAC picks up one or more programs to attempt support for P6 movement.

The AAC has the top P5 expansion candidates (The Pac12 & MWC kickoff time issues tells me outside of pulling USC/UCLA the Big 12 wont be going west). IMO in order it'd be: UCF, Cincinnati, Memphis, Houston, usf. If realignment is significant enough it could blow up the AAC by poaching it's top programs and the TV contract would be voided with the membership adjustment clause (this scenario is why it's there).

If no realignment happens with the P5's then I think we'd be able to bring in Boise, BYU & Air Force with an even stronger P6 push.

San Diego State might have as much going for it as Memphis, Cincy, or UCF does. Colorado State and Boise State might be of some interest to the Big 12.

Not sure if the Big 12 will add any teams, though, given that they passed up the opportunity to do so a couple of years back...

Why do the other moderators put up with Pony94's behavior?

He capriciously and arbitrarily moves any thread that he doesn't like to the OFF TOPIC area.

I would understand it if the topics he moves to OFF TOPIC really were "off topic," but this thread is about the future of the AAC.

There is nothing "off topic" about that.

I'm friggin' furious about this.

Pony94 - your behavior is egotistical and arrogant.

Other moderators - - please intervene!

Please remove Pony94 from the list of moderators. He doesn't deserve the privilege any longer. He has abused this privilege.

Quite frankly, there have been complaints about your constant spamming of the board. You also just broke the AUP here by complaining about moderators in public. Have an issue then take it up via PM. Keep going and you can have a vacation.

This job is thankless, and Pony94 is trying to keep things cleaned up.

I like SDSU, good-great hoops and decent-good football but like I said I don't see the Big 12 going west and welcoming the kickoff time issues. Same for Boise, plus I think the fact that they started as a community college hurts them tremendously with the blue bloods. Colorado State isn't even close to the top of our list, they're not going to be for the Big 12. They didn't care when Colorado left, they're not going to go out and get the football challenged school in the state.
