Lets not forget he can sign an endorsement deal and get large advances from agents right now.

I’m neither dumb nor a moron, but I will always expect good news and cheer for all Tiger activities, both on the playing field and institutionally. Do I like the fact that someone has chosen to take his talents elsewhere? No. But it is his option to do what he feels is right for him/his family. In the words of Forrest Gump, “it happens....”
It strikes me as a little judgmental to open a thread on this topic and then paint the posters in it with such a broad brush when this is how one feels on the topic. Given your online persona and post history I am surprised by this.
I'm surprised you manage to twist it into something so personal. That was pretty impressive. I did not take shot at the kid, say anything negative about the kid, I did even MENTION him at all. So I have no idea why you are pretending I did.
I think I said one thing and you heard something else entirely.
My disgust has nothing to do with this kid, the fans or the players. Its about college BB, the NCAA and the entire corrupt racket its become. We are not going to be allowed to be an elite program and the NCAA is going to see to that no matter what. NO I don't expect any big things to come for tiger BB. When it does the NCAA will shoot us down again like they have for years and just did again this season.
If you take that as a personal shot at you or fellow tiger fans that's your fault not mine. The problem is not tiger fans, its the NCAA.
The gist of my comment was directed at your second statement about anyone that wants and expects good things about the Tigers basketball program being a moron for doing so. What kind of fan doesn't want or expect good things for their team? Is everyone on the board a moron for being on here caring about the team?
I didn't say you mentioned or took a shot at the kid. I'm not sure how it could be interpreted that way. I certainly didn't intend it to come off that way.
I usually hate it when two people get a back-and-forth going on that isn't on-topic, so I probably won't respond again. I hate to clutter the board up with it. Maybe I just don't appreciate being called a moron expecting good news or good things for tiger teams.
Have a nice day...

Sure. But again, you have to figure, that if there is no NBA season then endorsement deals are peanuts for all rookies, especially a kid who is supposed to be in the G League. And advances are just loans... But the flip side is if there is no NBA season then there is no NCAA season, so it really does not matter.
If he is after instant money then he made the right decision, there is not argument there. And I never blame someone for doing what they think is in the best financial interest of their family. Personally, I just find it to be very risky electing to play against grown men fighting for survival as an 18 or 19 year old kid. It could easily cause him to slide a few spots which equates to millions or even over ten million in just the course of his rookie contract.

You'll get over it. I don't feel a need to clarify a 2nd time that it really wasn't about YOU or our fans (its about the NCAA AGAIN squashing us).
But ignore that and be personally offended instead if it makes you feel better.
You simply misinterpreted the post.

The NCAA is gonna get hosed and the NBA is doing it. good on the NBA. I absolutely despise the NCAA.
Jalen will also get about $125k towards his college degree in the future as part of this deal. Win/win situation for any type of player of Jalen's caliber to forego college and go straight to the pro system.

He totally dissed Tigers' fans as "morons" for being "dumb enough to expect good news or good things for tiger basketball is a moron" with that quote.
Then comes back and tries to paint you as being "offended" by what he wrote.
Well as a Tigers fan, I am offended by being called dumb and a moron for wanting good news and good things for the basketball team and I think every Tigers' fan should find a problem with being called dumb and moron, for wanting success for their favorite team.
If someone is done with college bb, why come on a message board to make a comment, when the No. 1 topic is the local college basketball team?

As I have clarified twice now he misinterpreted the post.
The intention of the post was not to insult fellow fans but to voice the "I give up" level of frustration many of us are feeling after this season and all the NCAA did to us.
YES - I think we would be stupid morons to think the NCAA is ever going to let us get ahead. I think a lot of tiger fans feel the same way right now.
Watching you guys bend over backwards to twist that into an intentional personal attack on all tiger fans is just insane.

I don't see what's in it for the NBA. They are now paying a guy half a million dollars to play 20 games in the G league (which no one cares about or watches). When they could have him playing 30+ NCAA games for free and then draft him. I see why it is good for the kid but not so much for the NBA.

It was the NBA that required one year of college (or year removed from high school), not the NCAA. Why? Because NBA GMs were tired of investing millions in Kwame Brown and Darius Miles type busts straight out of high school. That gave GMs at least one full year of evaluation for players playing against more skilled players.
The G League option is the exact same thing. It is just giving the GMs an even better metric to evaluate these players with since they will be playing against more skilled grown men. The NBA and GMs are worried about not picking busts in the lottery, not about whether Jalen Green maintains his status as a lottery pick...

If he aint ready it is going to show...
If he is truly the best high school player in the country he will be fine.

This new development league described here sounds more like a version of what James Wiseman is doing minus the 12 games....
Jalen isn't in the typical development league such as the D-league:
